I know an indie drummer in South Wales, a drummer with a degree in it on the South Coast that largely plays hard rock and a chick that just smashes skins in London. Getting them to the Highlands is a helluva ask though

It's going, but we've had a few weeks off recently with holidays and lead guitarist still isn't ready to do the tuesdays as well as fridays yet, but his mental state has improved recently as he's seeing a psychiatrist that seems to be helping. Baby steps, though.

And his missus who plays the synth has now got covid, fucking yay. So she's out of the picture until next week, and guitarist is self isolating, so another week or two off again.

However, the good news is that we managed to get all 4 of us together last week sometime, and brushed up a few of the tracks again, and also have got another 2 new ones, once of which is starting to sound really promising.

So I'm just practicing playing along to the tracks at home for now, keeping up to speed.

Think the next jam is next Friday.

Any news on a drummer or bassist your end?

No gigs booked yet, but a band that also play in the same building as us are playing the local pub in November, so I've told the pub that we'll tentatively book in for December. Gives us something to practice getting tight for.

Bah, it's arse isn't it. Sod it, just do studio for a bit and forget about it for now. That's normally when things turn up, I find.

It happens though, doesn't it. We went on a bit of a nose dive after all that practice for the gig, which then got cancelled. After that, we could all feel it get lower again. But you just have to crack on. Tomorrow's a different day etc. It's arse, but I've not found anything in life that goes 100% smooth all the time. Have you?

Well, yeah, it does all go in the right direction, but what I'm dreading is the "family" having an issue. I mean, the guitarist is married to the synth player. And the drummer is married to the synth player's sister.

Can you imagine if there was a family issue? Band would dissolve in seconds. But that's hypothetical. So I'm just enjoying it while we can.

Also, here's a spooky one. You know I mentioned the guitarist has suicidal thoughts and has manic depression, brought on my two of his mates that committed suicide in the past, amongst other things? Well, it fucking turns out that one of the guys that killed himself was WITH MY EX WIFE, just before I got together with her.

Fucks sake.

Anyway, for some good news - my sister text earlier today - she's cancer free, thank the universe. In fact, I'll post that in the cancer thread for some positive vibes for everyone.

No, I didn't meet him. And I only found out it was him about a month ago when the guitarist was opening up a bit about it. We were both shocked tbh.

Yeah, it's a massive relief for all 3 of us.

And now, work is completed, it is friday, it is time for beer and music! And drunken bass-a-long to some tunes later

Fucking hell, one minute I'm posting saying we have no gigs yet, and the next, we have a gig on Halloween at the local pub!

That gives us 3 weeks to sort our shit out, but it looks like it's on!
