Turned 5 pure black a few times now. Think I was farming mercury stone at one point so it was easier for that. Good for killing BP Selen as well. Oh, and the red Giant Depraved ones always drop an eye stone. However, turning it black and then having to go through it? Yeah... That was shit.

There's three that appear. The first one is on the bit of land just before you go through the first fog gate (that takes you up on to the wooden walkway), standing just beside the normal one. The second one is standing with the other two and that poison mage guy just before the merchant woman. The third one is just before the boss fog but off to the left if you're coming from the shortcut (so you don't need to aggro him if you're trying for the boss in PB and coming from the archstone). The primeval demon is beyond the second one, in the corner of the map past the mosquitos, so I ended up just fucking legging it with the sodden ring and regeneration on, sprinted towards the demon and battered him a split second before my skull got caved in by the big fuckers that legged it after me. All good though as when I respawned I hopped back to the nexus and when I returned it was almost neutral again so the fuckers were gone.

I’ve died to the Dragon God a lot more in the remaster than in the old version. He obviously makes good use of the better graphics and draw distance to punch me from across the map. Seriously, he’s a fucking PITA

I did it with less deaths on the PS5 version but it took me bloody ages to snipe all the rubble with soul arrow.

Cheers for the tips, I’ve done it now after watching a video.
It didn’t help that I lost a load of souls to that BP archer lass at the start of 1-4. I forgot/didn’t know she could cast Firestorm and I had one eye on Fucknuts with his scraping spear. Playing Souls with the ‘ump never ends well.

Any PBWT experts please?
Got Latria to pure black, went into 3-1 and killed PB Rydell for his pole, went to the boss altar and was taken to 3-2 by the gargoyle. Died on the way to get the Sodden Ring and kill the Primeval demon and I’m now back in 3-1 in a cell. It looks like it’s still PBWT but have I messed it up by dying or am I ok to carry on as long as I don’t warp or go back to the Nexus?
Hope this makes sense, but World tendency does my head in

Alan's dead. On to NG++ and here's where it seems the invasions are at. Five invasions in 1-1 in the space of about five minutes. before I even got to the top of the stairs in fact.
I hoofed them all with the ridiculously OP Northern Regalia so they very kindly turned what was a neutral world 1 into a pure white world 1. Thanks guys!
Hoping NG+2 isn't too hard as I just want to whizz through it to get the souls I need.

Good work. You've reminded me my next plan was to plat Demon's and complete the Soulsborne set (minus Sekiro... Fucking Owl Father).
But I've ended up starting Hades instead and now I can't stop dying/playing.

The Demon's plat isn't too bad tbh. I'm nearly there. I'm trying to plat Sekiro as well and all I need are two endings but I seem to have forgotten how to fight Sword Saint Isshin and he's destroying me.

Platinum got. That was probably on a par with bloodborne with how enjoyable that was. The only grinding involved was for the pure bladestone but as I lucked out in 25 mins or so it wasn't an issue.
I'm the end, going through ng+2 where every world was pure white, and I was rocking northern regalia with a pure white char, nothing was really too much of an issue. It still melted most enemies in one hit and made short work of bosses and invaders so it almost felt like I was cheating. Put enough into fth so I could use second chance as well but I never needed it.
Come on elden ring. I'm ready for you.

Congrats! I can't believe the Bladestone only took you 25 mins. I've done the platinum twice (EU and US versions) and I counted the bladestone runs in the second and it took 130 goes. It was interesting to hear about the updates to the platinum for the new version - I wasn't happy about that at first but the new trophies sound decent. Well done all round! Well done! See above; the Demons plat makes you engage with every aspect of the game and reveals all its hidden depths. It was and still is the best gaming experience of my life (your mileage may vary). The only fly in the ointment was the pure bladestone grinding, it was either 0.5 or 1% chance of a drop, can't remember. Everything else was perfect. |
