Seeing Pigs x7 later this year, and these are supporting so thought I'd check them out.
Fucking great.

I like this. Old school hardcore, think Minor Threat, Poision Idea etc.

Hmm. PunkNews.org's website security certificate has expired. Now where am I going to get my one out of every dozen album reviews that's actually of punk music amid a bunch of shyte that in no way relates to the genre at all?

MxPx released a new album last week, Find a Way Home. They’ve still got some good songs in them after all this time, very good album.

Surprised to see Jeff Rosenstock getting interviewed in the Guardian today. His new album is sounding pretty good from the handful of preview tracks on bandcamp.

Sad news. And after surviving a bullet wound from a mass shooting at a 4th July parade last year as well.
His brother Pierre, who died in 2020, was the bass player for Naked Raygun.

Nice
(It's a good tune and a good album, but that zoom into the good boy at 1:06ish is just superb).

Slam Dunk lineup announced on Wednesday.
Rumoured that You Me At Six are headlining. They are not a headline band.

Oh and this. Unlikely we'll get Rancid when they tour here. Green Day's last album was absolutely shite so hopefully their new one is better. Fucking image isn't working. Green Day are touring with Rancid and Smashing Pumpkins.

The Slam Dunk lineup is pretty weak but I am tempted just for Bouncing Souls.

Oh man that Slam Dunk line-up makes me feel like the nostalgia cycle was whipped over so fast that we’re already onto bands I was too old for first time around.

Nah, I was tempted last year but the timings didn't work out for me. The organisation of the festival isn't great either.

I'd want to see Pennywise but not much else.

Organisation is getting worse and worse. This year was awful. We couldn’t get near the festival site due to the traffic so abandoned the car in town and walked in, missing the first band we wanted to see. It was massively over sold as well, wasn’t easy to move between stages, not enough toilets, food vendors or water stations. Was basically a festival of queuing. The only saving grace was that by not getting the car in to site we missed the 4 hours of traffic getting out. Although they did try and hold foot traffic too. This was at the South site by the way. It’s always been bad to leave the site but everything this year was poor. Used to be great at the Uni but that’s me done with Slamdunk now which is a shame.

I caved and got Slam Dunk tickets. Mainly for the Interrupters stage. Saw Punk Rock Factory on Fri and seeing Grade 2 this Sat. Then quite a drought for a bit.

They've promised to fix it though so, it'll hopefully be a lot better. Queued 90 mins for food last year and missed Flogging Molly. And getting back to centre was shit. Must have easily queued over an hour for the bus back. It has never been that bad.

If I'm feeling well enough and not covering everyone around me in phlegm, I could go see Snuff in Swansea on Sunday night.

Seeing the lineup for Punk Rock Bowling 24 reminded me that it's been an eternity since I listened to Gorilla Biscuits:

The Chisel are touring, great live - saw them supporting The Chats so would be interesting to see them in a smaller venue
Tempted to go but already have gigs in Feb. Might see how I feel closer to the time.
