I get that, it’s obvious we have loads to do. But I don’t think there is anything wrong with hoping for say, a top 6 finish or a cup run. Sure it might not happen but what’s the harm.

So for sake of argument let’s say Man Utd were still in CL and finish 5th, West Ham finish 6th. Man Utd win CL, top 4 and Man Utd qualify for CL West Ham win EL, top 4 and West Ham qualify for CL Man Utd win CL and West Ham win EL, top 3, Man Utd and West Ham qualify for CL, fourth place goes to EL. |

If memory serves it was changed to up to 5 when Liverpool won the CL against Milan but Everton beat them to fourth so they could defend the title. The parameters for 4th to not qualify now are unlikely but certainly not impossible.

Well, one was for the foul I'd imagine, but yes, too many players (in all leagues, really) getting away with getting pissy at the ref, just because they'd already been carded right before
