Most of my love for the first AC is to do with modding on pc so I'd guess ACC, that's only GT cars but does have a good online system. Ta ill give that a go. Only 11 quid atm

So bit of an odd one.
I ordered a T300 GT for 180 from CEX it was a "C" grade. For that price I've taken a punt.
However I opened the box today and its just the normal T300 with ps logo and no clutch pedal.
This version sells for 280 on thier website.
The one they sent me looks brand new aswell.
So tempted to keep quiet as I imagine they could ask me to send it back? Issue I also have is the warranty. The receipt days T300GT which this isn't.
Classic CEX haha

Stock was probably marked wrong or easier to send that one instead, they making a ton from reselling new consoles and steam decks to care.

Only 11 quid atm Haven't tried either on console but both are good on pc. Both easily worth £11. ACC is technically accomplished, and sounds great with decent ffb after lots of patches. Tracks are extremely accurate as well. I just can't get too excited about GT cars but I'm clearly in the minority there as they are easily the most popular online classes.

Why should we have to hide our passions! Mrs damaged admitted to claming up when she saw the setup. Two hours later though she asked if she could do a few laps....so go figure haha

Little update!
Got the TM open wheel for 70 from Facebook, pretty much brand new so a steal. Decided to get that over the ferrari one as the TM seems to get better reviews and feels really nice.
Absolute game changer, obsessed with ACC at the moment. Tried a bit of GTsport after and it doesnt compare. GT has its merits but ACC is so much more fun to drive.

I own every F4 track this season and enough to get the skippys done on iracing, guess I'm getting a new car with my season payout.
Tempted to get a next gen Nascar so I can do the Carburetor Cup again, basically just unranked Talledega Speedway when bored.

Anyone know if the acc dlc drops on playstation? If not I'll grab it now. Just want the ones with the extra tracks. Bathurst! ❤️

I bought the new radical, Road America and the F3.
Pretty lively! The dump valve sounds great, although it's hard to tame and not sure I like it as much as the old one. Did about 50 practice laps yesterday and very few were clean, but it was still good fun.
Not sure I'm going to bother trying to run a full season of anything this time. Maybe F4 fixed as I have majority of the tracks. Tempted by F3 fixed but I'd need to buy quite a few tracks to get to 8wks there.

Ran my first Porsche 992 race in a while, still has the carnage I remember. 1 sec off the pace and car number 1 and 2nd split, expected a chunk of IR to go down the drain, lost just 13 and finished 10th, thanks to the numerous wrecks. Only ran 1 Skip race this week, at Okayama short , not sure I will run any more, utter boredom for 25 laps, nobody wrecking, nobody able to pass, processional. Such a shit track to start with and more short tracks pack the schedule this season Working up the bravery to run the Radi, at Atlanta the same as Porsche, so that might help egg me on.

I had a boring skippy race, top 15 similar best lap time at the end.
I bought the Brazilian stock car and regretted it instantly, only charged me $1.80 after my rewards so I don't mind a random car purchase.

No intent of racing it, barely doing enough on iracing to justify the space it takes up.

Been having a summer break from sim racing in general - something about the heat and light evenings really puts me off. Given the lack of activity in this thread it seems I'm not alone in this! I had a real-life track day today at my local circuit, Thruxton, so naturally it was a good excuse for a bit of simracing as prep. The only virtual Thruxton I could find was a mod for AC, a sim which I barely use. Turns out the Thruxton mod is fantastic, especially for an amateur effort. The guy somehow got LIDAR data so it's really spot on in terms of track width, corner radius, undulations and the racing line. Only thing missing was a specific bump on the apex of Church where the virtual track's a bit smooth. He's even got the pit lane and race centre building where we had the briefings broadly correct! Honestly couldn't believe how accurate it is. We drove a Porsche Cayman, Audi R8 and Ford Mustang. Fantastic fun, can highly recommend it. I then came home and tried the AC equivalent. I'm sure most won't care but it was interesting to me to gauge how close the AC cars are to the real thing: - Cayman - is very close to the real experience, it's very easy to drive IRL as it is in game. Engine note is louder in real life. - Audi R8 - IRL the gearbox has a fairly finicky metal gate and the throw is surprisingly long for a sports car which obviously doesn't translate to the game (accidentally went through the final chicane in neutral on one lap!). Awesome car to drive otherwise, and again the game is pretty faithful. I'd say the ABS on the real car is more forgiving, you could stamp on the brakes but otherwise the force feedback from pushing in real life was not too far away from what I had on my Fanatec CSW2.5. Top speed I hit IRL was just above 140 and in the game, I hit 148. Pretty good representation. - Mustang - too soft and wallowy in the game. The real car is certainly softer than the Audi but not the boat it is in AC. However, what was interesting driving it in sim both before and after I'd had the benefit of a proper racing driver giving tips was how much the proper techniques translate. Certainly less forgiving than the other two cars and really needs smoothness to go quickly. I went 1.5 seconds quicker in the game today after having an instruction than I did last night. All in all, sim racing obviously isn't a match for the fun of the real thing (the lateral G makes so much difference), but AC was reasonably close in certain areas. Just having the benefit of knowing the track and lines in advance of arrival really helped make the most of the limited laps we were given. One final note for anyone who has been following sim racer jimmy Broadbent's Praga cup exploits: Gordie Mutch was one of our instructors. I'm still plugging away. The horrible Skippy track selection this season has curtailed the amount of races I have run. People voted for these shit tracks and barely anybody has turned up to race them most weeks, lucky to get two splits at some of them. F4 has certainly fucked skippies up the arse. But F4 has too many clueless drivers for my liking.
Also learning the Porsche cup car this season, great fun, though I am no great shakes with it. Same could be said for everybody else judging by the wrecks every race, at least I can can keep it on the track.

For some reason I decided to go back to Assetto Corsa on the PS5 a couple of days ago. Had a play about with the wheel settings and it now feels great on the G29.
The GT and open wheel race cars are really well planted and feel great to drive. The road cars however depending on which one allow for some controlled drifting. Engine sounds are good also.
I've got ACC which I started playing on release of the PS5 version but I'm waiting till September to really get started as that's when the game is updated to match the PC version 1.8 and apparently it'll feel a little different to how it does now

I'm still sweating away, really struggling to get mega quick on f122.
Had to stop with ACC as on ps4 it's almost unplayable at times in races. TT is ok. But will wait till I get a ps5.

I've done what I need with f4 and skippy to get my payout this season but barely doing 1 race each a week, think I'll give iracing a break this winter and let my sub run out, been a great 3 years on it.

Not too sure how it would work, but is there a racing wheel setup I'd be able to use in bed? XSX and nice TV is in the bedroom so it'd be nice to race around with a wheel while sitting in bed. Is there a wheel with throttle controls on it? I'm guessing there's no 'lazy bastard pedals for beds' kits going around

You could probably get a cheaper wheel from like Hori or Thrustmaster or someone and remap the controls so that the shift paddles or something brake and accelerate.

In Drive to Survive on Netflix there’s a segment with Pierre Gasly in a hotel room before a race learning one of the tracks using a wheel and pedals whilst, if not lying in bed, then prone on the sofa. No idea which series or ep though, happy hunting if you try tracking it down

Anyone familiar with setting up leagues on f122
Had an issue where my mate, whenever he joins the lobby is only ever as a spectator. Can't find anything online about it. He has had the invite etc

So, I've been persevering with F1 '22, but the handling is challenging, and no matter what I do I can't make it the fun kind of challenge. People say F1 '23 is more balanced, any testimonials from forumites?
Shitty that they delisted all the other games.
On pad BTW, please don't chase me out of the thread!

Have to admit I didn't even bother with F1 '23 after being so disappointed with '22.
Would also be interested in impressions from anyone that has played it (wheel in my case). Going from simracing YouTubers it's apparently a bit less weird.

Weird season in iRacing, Outside of GT3, F4, and Mazda, participation seems to have tailed off. I frequent weird open wheel series and the turn out has been pitiful at times. Still, some decent races this season Almost makes me wish for another Covid pandemic

I'm on a break from iracing. Not had the time lately, it really needs regular investment not just to get your money's worth but also to be competitive.
Similar to you though, I have no real interest in GT3 racing and find its massive popularity unfathomable and slightly dispiriting.
They are neutered sports cars with driver aids that only exist for rich gentleman racers who aren't trusted to race without them. I just find them soulless and boring in a virtual world. You can race anything that has ever existed and instead people choose bulky modern cars with mediocre engine notes, essentially mandatory ABS and TC (to be competitive) and performance is artificially equalised amongst the field only due to success ballast.
I'm desperate for a realistic online racer that's affordable and focuses on a series that's actually fun to drive. I quite like the various classic cars and tracks in Automobalista 2 but its online racing system seems to be an afterthought despite numerous promises it will get attention.
The whole sim racing scene does seem to be struggling a bit after the pandemic boom. It's basically iracing, which is unreasonably expensive (and despite a large player base has spread itself too thin for competitive grids), and then every other sim is more focused on releasing endless car and track paid dlc (thereby diluting their player base as well) rather than doing a decent career mode or creating a competent ranked online system to get vaguely close to iracing.
Rennsport seems like even more GT3 (FFS!) and Motorsport Games who at least talked a good game are essentially bankrupt and never going to release any of them.

I didn't renew my iracing at black Friday last year, wasn't using it enough to justify it. Still got it all set up and I mess about in beam.ng and AC.
Not played f1 23 yet, my vr headset needs to be renewed and may pick up a quest 3 headset when they arrive.
