Had a couple of hours on it. Seemed more janky at the start, out of sync subtitles and a weird black bar at the bottom of the screen that I couldn't get rid of. Looks like a patch already that's fixed the bar. I've turned off subtitles anyway.
It's good fun so far, reminds me of SR3. Has some wacky side missions. Just did a main mission that had nods to Mad Max Fury road.

Some parts look good, others not so much, the sand storm part I did was great, the cutscenes are very much last gen. Overall there really isn't much visual overhaul imo. Enjoying it though, it's totally nuts, it's more woke as well, but to be honest I ignore all that.

This is first new game I’ve bought in ages.
Feels like it’s been years since an open world game came out that didn’t involve superpowers or xtreme running and jumping.
Looks like the old New Zealand trick works on Xbox too.

I've just read the DF review and the settings available are to be praised but I'm baffled that they launched the game without any frame caps, so if you haven't got a VRR enabled TV them you're fucked and going to get a frame rate that goes up and down. Weird.
I think this game needed a month more in the oven and it could have really got it seeing as even being released in September would have been fine.

I started watching the ACG review and he gave a massive spoiler also. Then he started getting all GRR DEY TUK ARE DILDOS and I closed the tab.
The gameplay still looks fun. I'll get it sometime, maybe just not this week.

It gets more janky the more you play. Still good fun, but it feels like a game from 20 years ago. The car handling is terrible.

Ha, man that review was fucking savage. I don't think Volition have released a good game in a while. Their last proper one, excluding the SR3 remaster, Agents of Mayhem was also fucking awful.

None of the games in the series have been any good, all janky messes with a bit of charm. I'm surprised they got as many games as they did out of it.
Was kind of hoping they had sorted their shit out for this one but doesn't look like it.

There was a distinct lack of open world co-op games,the original ones helped fill a massive gap (when they worked).

tbh, we're just in a "release it now, patch it later" phase of game development. Most games get passes for releasing broken. The only reason Cyberpunk got hammered as hard as it did was due to its long development period and all the hype after Witcher 3 took over the globe.
A GTA that releases as buggy as I'm reading this Saints Row has would be equally lambasted. But going back to Cyberpunk and RPGs, if Spiders released something as buggy as that, nobody would care because their have been no hype built up.
