There was a time where I actually quite liked FIFA. The Megadrive era was fun. And 2010/11/12 were decent when PES went to shit. But other than that, I don't quite see the appeal.

Well I have exorcised the ghost of fifa 22 with installing Pes 2021 with some gameplay mods and a data update for all the proper leagues and comps etc. Balance has been restored.

Was really hoping for a new football game this year, and was pretty sure I’d just go for fifa as it’s been so long since I bought it. Seems to have reviewed ok, but impressions on here have put me off again. Bit bored of PES 21, but maybe I could get the season update from last year and start a new ML or something.

I don't know if the community are releasing another OF for this year - I suspect they were waiting to see how this turned out. They may well get cracking now, it they haven't already

Yeah I am waiting for this season's update but for now I am happy to play 20/21. Just started a new ML with Blackburn. Difference in gameplay between that and new FIFA is night and day.

Just signed up for a months EA Play to try FIFA. Holy fucking shit, how can it be that bad? What the hell is going on with the graphics? I'm sure it wasn't quite as bad as this the last time I tried it.

We're going to have to hope they really pull it out of the bag and fix this to a playable state. I can't live in a world where Fifa is the only viable option for a football game.

Weird thought came back to me, thinking about other football games: was it This is Football on the PS2 that you could fake a dive by pressing both L2+R2?

The handballs when you switched them on with some of the FIFA games from the 2000's were hilarious pen-fests.

I seem to remember Codemasters trying their hand at football, I really enjoyed LMA manager on the consoles but don't think I remember much about Club Football.
Was that any good?
Not that they'd ever revisit especially now EA own them.

The v1.0 patch (lol) is now delayed from this month until Spring 2022
Should just rebrand all over again at this point. The eFootball name is tied to such a poor product and poor launch so may as well.
