Nah, it's still crap. Better, I agree, especially the animations. But it's so unresponsive. Long way to go imo.

I didn't find it that unresponsive now to be honest. Make sure to put the passing on 3 which helps a huge amount.

I'll wait until next year before trying again. Makes me very sad to see it like this. It is very reminiscent of the PS3 launch. At least they're not charging £40 for this.

I quite like it now. Or at least I can see where they're trying to go with the player weight and inertia. I think it's always going to feel a touch unresponsive because they're trying to give the animations proper weight. It's still not in a releasable state but I'm a lot more optimistic that it'll get there after trying this build.

It may be that it's such a departure from the previous versions, that my spamming of the sprint button is causing me problems. That's what I would say if I was trying to be charitable...

Just given this another try.
They seem to have dialed back the graphics to get a stable framerate (loads of low textures swapping to hi res at parts too). It’s now stable though on series x.
I can’t for the life of me work out the defending, A or X (on ps5) seems to be some weird step back move and the shoot button is now tackle. Literally makes no sense at all. And like Dougs said it you have spammed the sprint button in defence for the past 20 years, you’re going to have a bad time...
Still miles better than the new fifa though

Trying this again after disliking it at launch…
It’s not bloody bad at all! Quite enjoying it.
I’d put 300-400 hours into Fifa co op every year, but this time haven’t bothered with it.
This is pretty decent now…

They might be quick to bury that idea if it doesn't gain traction though. I wish someone would just buy Konamis game division off them and leave them to their main business of pachinko. Then their IP's and studios might actually get the treatment they deserve.

I dunno, it’s F2P, if it’s decent word will get out and I reckon there’s (just about) enough goodwill toward the series for people to try again. I certainly will. Different story if people had parted with cash for the shitshow that was last year’s release

It needs some much doing to it if you are looking to pull in a new playerbase though. The whole UI needs completely rebuilding and it's still a bit of a shell compared to previous versions of the game (which a lot of people considered to be lacking).
Don't get me wrong PES has been my football game of choice for a long time (a few years of FIFA in-between) but most people can't see past the presentation.

Yeah, especially if they add some reasonably priced single player modes. I really hope the ultimate team mode is similar to FIFA in that yeah, you can buy a good team by throwing money at it, but you can also build one pretty easily just by playing.

I was just thinking that hopefully the online issues will finally be sorted, with the whole game being built around with t.
And then remembered Konami.
Still, it’s free so nothing to lose by giving it a go.
