In the old place there was a thread about recommending new electronic music, figured we could do with one here to.
For consistencies sake thought I'd label it the official xxxx appreciation thread.
Anyway
Been listening to The Bug's new album. It's heavy and dirty, unsurprisingly. Whilst it does follow on from London Zoo and Angels and Demons nicely, it definitely has a good dash of the more atmospheric, droning soundscapes he explored with Earth.
Anyway, posting this because I really like the modulating synth arpeggio sound, reminds of Logan's Run.

I've watched that Solumon set about 100 times over the years, one of the best.

Listening to some Liquid DnB today.
This Channel focuses on sort of old school Liquid Drum n Bass and early CGi visuals. Its actually quite nice focus and walking music too. Channel youtube.com/channel/UCAw0NyC_6y-se4zcQGbEgHA

I went to see Rival Consoles last night. My first concert since March 2020 which was Jon Hopkins. RC did a very dancey set quite Hopkins like actually. The crowd loved it. We were all a bit unsure how to behave but after about half an hour we decided to go full hands in the air and grin at each other. I am tired now..

I did like The Knife. love the absolutely dirty, distorted sound of this track.

Can anyone recommend some (preferably good!) electronic music with vocals? I'm thinking along the lines of Broadcast, Portishead, Atoms for Peace, etc.

You could try:
Park Hye Jin
Or Ive got back into Chromatics recently, so they might be worth a crack. Not electronic music, per se, but good nontheless.

Yeah, very similar vibe.
While I'm here (and while Forza is on peoples minds) I have been very much digging Rebuilding Better Worlds, a superb remix album of Building Better Worlds. It is a delight.

I've realised that because i listen to so many mix or themed playlists that i hear so many bands that i never remember their names and i'd have to go through and find the playlists i heard them on to find them out. I also have a problem wehre a lot of the bands i do know are from the late 90s early 2000s. Many of the electronic bands i listen to also have guitar and analogue elements to them too and a lot of electronic music i listen to is stuff like Retrowave, Dark wave or witch house. Anyway here's some old stuff i used to listen to while i wrack my brain for the names of some more recent artists. Ladytron Camoflage a HUGE german group a bit like Depeche Mode, kinda, sort of. International Pony I love the way that Digitalism in Cairo and Departure from Cairo mix together

This came up in my "shuffle all" on my playlist and it's still fucking awesome.
The intro mantra of "ITS 1997 WHAT THE FUCKS GOING ON" really does make me feel old.
(this kind of stuff is why I didn't want to title this thread "new electronic music" or whatever the fuck it was called back in the annals of history)

And if anyone wanted a fairly obscure banger:
Then I found myself listening to the below, thinking it was "new" then realised it was released in 2013

I remember playing the Ginger LP to death, then never listing to Speedy J again for some reason.
Carpenter Brut 2022 tour just announced so time to play all their stuff again, holy hell this is 8 years old.

Not sure if I like this, or if I just want to like it because I'm a massive fanboy of the producers "main" band (Kordhell is a project by one of the guys from the metal band Anaal Nathrakh).
But I think I like it?

I like some of these lengthy mixes. They can vary quite wildly.
