See a lot of people hating on this film as it doesn’t fit into the traditional Bond mould. I think having a continuous story arc was a reaction to the MCU so this is what we’ve got and I certainly think it finished on a high note.
I think the producers already know who they want next. Had plenty of time to think on it. Probably already got the person locked in.
As for Q being shit in an expanded role, he was great in License To Kill.

Am gobsmacked at people being unaware of the hate for Skyfall. I remember seeing it at the cinema with my mate and we both thought it was absolutely bollocks.
Dark Knight meets Home Alone. It's only because Spectre exists that I don't hate it as much as I do but Craig is, easily, the worst era for Bond. po-faced, convoluted interlinked plot that makes no sense and utterly bland baddies.
Moore might have been shit but at least he had Jaws, Zorin, Scaramanga and Drax.

Well, it did get pretty much universal critical acclaim, and everyone I know who watched it thought it was great... so I guess there was no way for me to know that there was hate for it. No one informed me!
Maybe everyone was just happy it was better than QoS!

Brosnan is the worst Bond era easily. Only Goldeneye is passable and that's because the game made it feel better than it was.
The rest of his films go from terrible to really shit.

Goldeneye would be still totally fine if it wasn't for:
- terrible dated Eric Serra score. I thought it was wank at the time, it's astonishingly wank now. I have no idea who thought that was a good idea but I imagine they owed Luc Besson money;
- Alan fucking Cumming;
- Bond wears a quartz. I mean, gtfo.

Weren't there already 2 Craig bond films before Iron Man came out? You'd think Marvel invented storytelling the way people lionize their stupid cartoon kids movies.

I’d also quite like the next films to feature more 00’s, rather than just mentioning them briefly or casting someone for one movie. It’d be good to give Bond a bit more contrast with a team, and feel like MI6 was an actual organisation rather than one super-agent. Agreed. I always quite liked the Sean Bean character in Goldeneye, and he would have had more depth had he been in more than one Bond (implausible anyway due to it being Brosnan's eventual first too).

I liked the Sean Bean character too. I kinda wish we could have had him come back because the idea of an antagonist who was an ex-00 and who knew all Bond's moves was kinda cool.
Then again, I love Goldeneye. I think Brosnan was a pretty good Bond. Tomorrow Never Dies and The World is Not Enough both had flaws, but were enjoyable enough. Die Another Day started really well, but ended up as some weird sci-fi crap.
I'm kinda surprised Brosnan only did 4 bonds...

. Die Another Day started really well, but ended up as some weird sci-fi crap. It was only Sci fi in the same way most of bonds gadgets have been at bit far fetched, I mean it's not like he went off in a flying saucer! Imo people should look these films for the fun things they're meant to be, stop looking too deeply, or should I say "stop getting bond wrong"

Speaking of Goldeneye, I've got an unused UV code for that. It's years past redemption date but it may still work (they sometimes do). Also TLD. Goldeneye: 47B8WM8LGFAEHA5 The Living Daylights: 478SLHUL29LMMAM1 foxredeem.com/

I hate skyfall with a passion. Truly awful film, also the song is utter shite too
My top bond movies are: OHMSS Goldfinger The spy who loved me For your eyes only Casino royale The living daylights
Goldeneye is close but the score was terrible at the time and even worse now. There’s hardly any bond music in it all all!
Worst bond movies that I’ll never watch again Diamonds are forever Skyfall World is not enough Die another day

I know I should know better, but part of me still enjoys Mr Wint and Mr Kidd in Diamonds are Forever.
And for dessert, the piece de resistance, a (ticking) bombe surprise.

Worst bond movies that I’ll never watch again Diamonds are forever Skyfall World is not enough Die another day I wouldn't argue with most of those, except I'd put Goldeneye in the top group and I don't think Skyfall and World is not enough deserve to be in the bottom group. I might put Spectre in there, and that unofficial one that's the same plot as Thunderball.

It was one of my favourites as kid and I do like wint and Kidd, but my god the film is terrible. Oh and The fight scene in the lift is pretty good too.

Is still don't understand Tomorrow Never Dies being rated so badly. I thought it was class. OK, the High Sparrow is a bit of a wank bad guy. But Michelle Yeoh was great. Some really good action sequences.
Maybe I just like the crappy ones. View to a Kill is one of my all time faves. The names Smythe, James St. John Smythe.

Some really good action sequences. It's a long time since I watched it, but I thought it was pretty good. I was a massive Michelle Yeoh fan, so it already had that in its favor. i think she was probably better than Bond though. I seem to remember that my main issue with it was that Bond didn't really do any spying. IIRC he went and announced himself, and then 90% of the movie was him running away and being chased. The basic idea of Rupert Murdoch using a stealth boat to engineer WW3 for ratings seemed ok to me though. I liked View To A Kill too, though I was a lot younger then. Battle on Eiffel Tower. Check. Firetruck chase. Check. Fight on Golden Gate Bridge. Check. What more could you want?

I actually thought Carver was one of the better Bond villains. His motivation was more interesting than the usual evil stuff you get.

Always thought the Dalton films got a slightly undeserved bad rep.
Far from perfect, but enjoyable and of their time, nonetheless. So maybe I'm viewing them in rose tinted glasses.
Also, Del Toro's character in License to Kill suffers my all time favourite death scene in a Bond film.

License To Kill is one of my favourite Bond films if not my favourite. Depends on what mood I'm in. Either that or Live and Let Die.

Time has been kind to the dalton films. I watched living daylights a few months ago and it really is top tier classic bond and Dalton is excellent in it. The stunt out of the back of the plane with the netting is spectacular as are a lot of the others. It only suffers from having a weak ending in comparison to the rest of the film.

Tomorrow never dies is pretty good, nowhere near bottom tier bond. Brosnan was a great bond but he was given two terrible movies.
Craig has slowly morphed into sid James and should have been dumped after skyfall.

I don't think Murdoch literally does war crimes so that he can get exclusives reporting on them. That's fairly unique (though I guess Nightcrawler does it on a smaller scale)

I thought it was widely acknowledged that OHMSS was the shittest Bond film ever? It's a really good film that tried to break the mould and do something new with Bond, that's hamstrung by having an at-best average actor as Bond.

It's like a palate cleanser after wrinkly crinkly Bond increasingly relying on gadgetry. TLD also has the bonus of having the best fucking Bond car in that Aston Martin Vantage V8. I'd sacrifice some orphans to own one of those. Edit, it's a Vantage.
