I may have already posted this but the Hired Guns soundtrack still rules, decades later. The simulated waa waa guitar at 2:55 is just *chef’s kiss*

Jools, Jops, Stoo, your existence was a cyclical nightmare of death and rebirth.

As long as we're talking about it in the Xbox thread I'd like to give a shout-out to Blue Dragon's soundtrack and especially its final boss theme. Regardless of how cheesy you may think the regular boss theme is, this one goes hard:Nobuo Uematsu is one of my favourite composers as it is and it's rather odd that, out of everything he's worked on, it was Blue Dragon where I first heard his music

Fun fact about Uematsu actually, he formed a rock band, the Black Mages, back in 2002 along with two of his Squeenix colleagues, Kenichiro Fukui and Tsuyoshi Sekito, Uematsu being the keyboardist!
You can peep them performing the Advent Children version of One-Winged Angel in a concert in 2006:

A mate reminded me of this the other day and I had forgotten how much the soundtrack slapped

I'll never actually finish Star Control 2 (I know there's a time limit and I'm wasting too much time just exploring the galaxy and gathering resources), but the soundtrack slaps anyway.

Oh hey, this is back up! Good timing, I was just thinking about it... I've gushed about the Xenoblade soundtracks in various other threads, but I must say it's quite a chad move to make a track like this for one single enemy half your players will never even find But seriously, I could post a Xenoblade track here daily for probably months, go give their OSTs a listen and chances are good you won't regret it.

And for anyone interested, to find this track in game you have to progress past the beginning of Chapter 6, kill four specific Unique Monsters and find a discussion piece in the City to get all five pieces of the "Aionios' Strongest" topic. After discussing it in a camp, go to Swordmarch where the City originally was. In the big open space to the left of the area, a cutscene should trigger. The four Unique Monsters in question are: Kilocorn Grandeps near the Tableland Ferronis Hulk in the Fornis region Perilwing Ryuho at Cooley Lake in the Aetia region Dreadwyrm Nizoont behind the Forgotten Trick Gate in lower Maktha Wildwood, Pentelas region Levialord Empireo in the Aegis Sea, eastern part of Erythia Sea in the Cadensia region. Make sure someone has the Soul Hack skill on when fighting all four of these and the final enemy, all of them have a skill or art to learn and you might as well get them first go

Not from a game, but this track by Biosphere strongly reminds of some of the early music from Diablo II.

I was messing about with SR2 and remembered this from the original game.
Can't have Blue Dragon without some Lost Odyssey! (you have to listen to this one until the end)

The SR1 soundtrack was great all around. I find it difficult to think of a favorite track. Maybe the main Necropolis theme and the Ruined City combat theme.

This one is a cover rather than OST, but with Mario Galaxy having one of my favourite soundtracks ever and Buoy Base Galaxy being one of my favourites from said soundtrack, it's only fair to give this fresh new cover a shout-out, I think:

If you're a fan of Yuzo Koshiro's music in the Etrian Odyssey games, do yourself a favour and skip to 29:52, then 3:04:04 in this video www.youtube.com/live/Av7sfLOjpro

Sound of Play is a great podcast, covering video game music. They're not on Spotify for some reason, but I listen via the Google Podcasts app.

Just started Terranigma, not really sure if the game is good or not yet, but the soundtrack is already among my favorites.
