The Poseidon cast is a great defensive one - you can buy yourself space with it quite nicely. Not quite so good for burning bosses, but it's still one of the stronger casts.

Yeah it's really nice for my current skill level. It's giving me that extra second or two I'd have otherwise taken a bit of damage in to get my shit together.

Yep. "I'll just get through to the next room and save" has been the plan about 50 times this evening. Finally dragged myself off it.
I'm absolutely shite with that shield. I like the knockback/cornered effect but I'm a total liability with it.

I tend to use it as a short-range bludgeon and only rarely use the block.
Special's good, though.

The fists are absolute boss-destroyers with the right boons. Not always so hot at crowd control, though. But on balance, I like them a lot. Probably my second favorite after the bow.
Anybody tried the Rail yet? That's the one I really can't get along with.

Beat the 1st boss on my 3rd encounter, then beat the 2nd boss on my 1st encounter. Smashing my way through this with the spear.

Haven't got the fists yet. Really need to branch out from the pole though, it's becoming a big crutch.

I think my fastest run is like 18 minutes. With the right bow build it's easy to just tear through.

The spear run was with the Aspect of Guan Yu, which is the absolute tits.

Horrible confession... when I started playing this, I decided I'd focus on getting a kill of the end boss before unlocking other stuff. So I used sword only until my first successful escape. Felt like a right prat afterwards.

Haha, that's been my exact mindset. Become one with the spear and get just good enough with it to scrape through to a completion.
To think I've been pissing my keys away at the mirror.

It's not as tough as a Souls game (as evidenced by me being able to beat it). I'd put it closer to something like Isaac, but a bit more forgiving.
Anyway, I was useless with the Sword and the Spear. I think the fists are the most fun (just hold the attack button down and dash everywhere), the shield is the easiest to win with, and the bow/railgun are the most potentially OP weapons.

It's worth knowing that you can't refund spent Titan Blood, though it is relatively easy to acquire once you get heat unlocked. The costs for the upgrades are quite steep though, so pick your first ones carefully. I always recommend the bow upgrade that does homing shots, unless they've nerfed it.

My biggest face melting builds were always Adamant Rail with Aspect of Eris and the two Daedalus hammers that give you rockets + 5x respectively.
It was also the point I finally managed to stop playing on PC, as every run became focused on searching for this build then spamming special, which got boring pretty fast. I'll be back on PS5 soon...

For some reason I've been struggling with Meg, died to her quite a few times even after beating her with the shield. Think I've got the hang of her now though. And the second area boss fell on the second attempt, with the Adamant Rail gun. I find the main attack of the gun annoying, but the special with a buff to fire three bombs at once absolutely wrecked anything that couldn't get out of the way.
Also quite enjoyed the snide comments by some of the characters about using a gun. Like sure, a shield that bounces off enemies or a bow that fires volleys is fine, but bullets and bombs are kind of tacky.
I ploughed my first 2 Titan bloods into the Aspect of Zeus on the shield and then didn't really get on with it... haven't really settled on a favourite weapon yet because I'm still trying to get good with all of them by always picking the one that has bonus darkness

Right I've unlocked all the weapons! Feels like an achievement. Although the furthest I've made is one room past the minotaur. Hoping that upgrading a weapon once or twice will help make it further as definitely found enemies much harder to kill around that point. Very much enjoying this though!

Yeah, the third area is where runs go to die. The last area isn't nearly as annoying imo.

Third area isn't too bad if you have some sort of armour piercing.
My main stumbling block was not getting good rng on the amount of last rooms you do.
I bowed out of this after completing a run with all weapons and getting the proper ending. Absolutly loved it, will jump back in at some point.
I wouldn't stress too much about what you get from the mirror. You will have unlocked them all before too long.

The last area is where you hoover power ups for the final boss or enough money to get a diamond.
The 3rd boss is basically the point at which you know whether you are going to succeed on your run. I usually design my build to get through the 3rd boss and if I get through, I'm pretty much guaranteed to do the last boss.

So you don't have to do all the rooms in that 4th area?
I've actually found the 3rd okay so far. Don't know if the spear is just a natural weakness for the enemies there but the only real trouble I've had is with the boss in there.

When you git gud, how long can a full run take? 30-40 minutes. When you start regularly getting to Hades you will be on 40 minutes a run, a bit less if you fluke a god build.

Think I finally died in the 2nd to last set of rooms after learning you could cure poison embarrassingly far into that floor.
