Also IMO all of the standard mirror talents are better than the alt ones, with the exception of golden touch and if it's to your preference, infernal soul.

Probably a stupid question but does it make any difference when you lock that little yellow icon onto the buffs you've got? I can't work out what thats for

Digging the fistos.
Is the cast as useless as it seems?

Digging the fistos. Is the cast as useless as it seems? Nah it's quality if you find the right drop for it. It's single handedly pulled me through tight spots. The default one is garbage though.

Beat Meg on my 7th run. Basically stopped frantically button mushing and took my time. Used the spear. Loving it. Saved at the beginning of the 2nd area. Lunch time.

Currently got a spear attack that splits into 3 in front of me. Deleting anything that dares be stupid enough to enter my come of vision.

Ahhh man I had that third boss down to a whisker just then. I feel as though my 'dash around the edge leaving blade rifts for the minotaur to waltz into' strategy was a little on the cheap side, but you've gotta do what you've gotta do.

Digging the fistos. Is the cast as useless as it seems? You can do cast builds that break the game in half. The trick initially is to get a good base cast (or anything) and build on it rather than spreading thinly. Like get posoidons cast, knock away damage, wall splat damage and so on and soon your cast starts hurling everything into the wall and one shotting things

You can also combine an Artemis boon that makes enemies take damage when your shard is dislodged from them with a Hermes boon that makes your cast dislodge much faster. That can be serious damage.

Reached the first boss and had my ass handed to me :-) I am enjoying the sense of overall progression - reminds me of Undermine and Dead Cells in that regard.
The music when starting a run still gets me :-)

Watch where the fountains that cure poison are. Try not to fight right next to them, so that they don't get poison fog over them. Dash to them as soon as you get poisoned.

Yeah, my build was so reliant on parrying there that I was dashing about all over the place so I never really acclimatised and got schooled after about 3 of those gates in the main hub area.
It's the laser cunts that really do for me when there are loads of them in a room. I lose so much health trying to deal with them quickly.

I fought the second boss before and it was shooting AOE fireballs at me instead of the purple bullet things. Is this the change you guys were on about earlier? What triggers it to happen?

Bosses can get different forms after you kill them a set number of times. After that happens, they will select a form at random for each run. The biggest changes are on the first boss. For the second and third, it's more that they get slightly different attack patterns.
After you've done your first successful escape, you'll get access to the Pact of Punishment, which lets you continue to get new rewards from runs, in exchange for adding modifiers that make them harder. One of the big one is Extreme Measures, each rank of which significantly changes (and makes harder) the boss for an an area, starting with the first and working upwards.
The Extreme Measures versions of the bosses are pretty insane, the last boss in particular.

So yeah, I wasn't far off seeing the first boss change...
Managed to get through her but lost my 2 death defiances. She doesn't show up that often right?
Right?

You'll get the third sister next time (Tisiphone). After that, it's random which of the three sisters you get each run. Alecto is definitely the hardest of the three.
The Extreme Measures version of the fight looks like it's going to be all three at once, but isn't that bad (you fight one of them properly, the others pop in and out of the fight to do the odd attack).

Did a spear run and got the last boss down to a cat's whisker of health before choking. It's frustrating as fuck when a good run ends, but that was something else!
Did another run with the final weapon, which was my first win on PC too IIRC (the hammer buff that changes special to +300% damage and wider area and then get whatever boons you can that compliments that) Managed it with a spare life still in the bag that time around.

My fastest full clear is just under 20 mins. Typically, 25-30 mins. A lot depends on how quickly you find the sack in the fourth area, plus whether you have a good build for burning bosses.
Edit: For context, on that run I was using the bow, got the triple-shot upgrade almost right away, then got a couple of boons that drove its damage through the roof. I got the sack from the first tunnel in the fourth area.

One of those weird games this isn't it? I just encountered that 3rd sister and battered her without issue. Rage was a bit annoying at the end but she was easy to telegraph.
Got my first really decent cast to build around this run; a Poseidon one with knockback. It's absolutely murdering stuff so far.
