Pretty similar to Dead cells in that regard. In fact the more I play it the more I think they took alot of inspiration from it.

I think Hades is up there with Slay the Spire and Spelunky as the best rogues. Dead Cells not far behind.

Struck down by the third boss. Might need a few goes to work that one out properly.
Didn't find that area too bad on first impressions. Might have just had a decent build to combat it but I found it much easier than 2.

I loved experiencing this game. I sent tweets to the developers sending love & best wishes on the hard work and I feel like they have lots of creative thinking going on. A lovely game & one of my current favorites. Best right now?

FFS almost took down the bosses on level 3, the cunt with spear and shield spamming his god call thing, the other boss was easy when I could isolate it in the arena

For the area 3 boss, remember that when you kill one, the other gets buffed a bit. It's generally better to wear Theseus down first, as he is nastier in the final phase. The minotaur hits hard, but is predictable and easy to dodge. Ideally, wear them both down a bit before one dies.

Just wait until you all get the hang of targeting specific builds on your runs. You'll be smashing out winstreaks without breaking a sweat. I think mine only got broken because I did a max heat run for a laugh.

Yeah … this thread is making me want to finally buy the game. Though I do have a free two weeks on game pass (PC); reckon I could rinse it for as much as necessary in that window? Or is it all about the replayability?

Or is it all about the replayability? Figure 10 hours or so to "get" the game and probably 30 hours on top of that to see all of the significant content. You can speed that up a bit if you want by using god mode, which gives you an incremental buff every time you die (which can be toggled on and off at will).

Cool, cheers. Might be worth just buying it then for those sort of hours.
Plus I’d pretty much banked on using the two weeks of game pass to blitz through The Medium and The Ascent anyway. That’s another issue, really: game pass should be an absolute no brainier for me as I jump between games all the time, but I genuinely don’t feel like I get a lot of value out of it, as I just can never seem to be arsed to download games only to uninstall them an hour later lol I blame larger downloads like Outer Worlds and Metro: Exodus for putting me off.

Pro tip for spending your nectar early on: spend one on each god/character to get their trinket. Additionally, keep one stored at all times in case you run into sisyphus. You'll want to max him out first for an excellent reward after a while. Once he won't take more, focus on Meg, Thanatos, Skelly, Dusa and Achilles. Don't bother giving more than 1 to anyone else until you've done them.

The medium is not very long and a bit meh tbh, and the ascent is bit average (you need co-op partner or gets a bit dull) Not sure if that helps Back to hades, the spear is my new favourite weapon, killed boss 1 and 2 very quickly with some damage upgrades (and dash to deflect is essential)

I think the spear is probably my most used weapon. With the last of its forms plus athena attack it's basically a free win.

Hang on, am I getting this right here? It can split the bosses in Level 3 up into individual instances? I just ran into the bull twat on his own.
Still died mind you.

2nd boss is a bit of a cunt isn't he?
Absolutely smashed the run on my first tonight and then he killed me on his last slither of health.

2nd boss is so easy with that pole. He can never get near you and you can just chip away and clear the adds as they come in.

For the second boss, it's best to try to pace yourself so you can do a big burst of damage as the secondary heads appear. He's a big pussycat when it's just him. Make sure you have your casts ready and, if you have a call, try to have it charged for the second wave of secondary heads.
