I saw Caestus in Andre's shop and the description mentioned strength - I wondered if that might be worth a go. My other strength guy was slow and smashy with a massive shield, but I finally learned to dodge roll well in Elden Ring (or maybe it was with my other DEX DS1 character), so I could try a short range nimble boxer type.

Still going with this. Level 65 now. Just gone through most (?) of the Painting World. More fucking wheelers in the depths, so gave up there for the night.
I've hit 40 Int and I'm 22 Dex I think. Mainly just spam Pyromancies or blue bolts against bosses. Feels like cheating but there we go. Weapon-wise I'm Magic Scythe and a small shield, or I just got a Lightning Spear which is pretty strong.
Feel like I've done this in the wrong order. Went to lava world – found a yellow door. Went to bottom of the place with the lights out, hit yellow door. Got to Anor Londo and found a yellow door. Will keep ploughing on till I get the key it's hinting at.
Generally though, it's been pretty manageable. The Wheelers are by far the most infuriating. And the Demon boss with the dogs was irritating. But I'm finding it a lot easier than Elden Ring tbh. Think the bosses generally have less moveset variation. Can often bait them and then klonk them on the head a few times. Rinse, repeat.

You haven't really fought any hard bosses yet, besides Capra (the one with the dogs), although Capra is not hard in the usual sense of the word. The first skill check boss is coming up fast, though, in the big holy place.
