He could age into the role, but he still looks like a waif here.

As said above it looks entertaining in a National Treasure sort of way, I'm sure it'll be watchable in it's own right.
Holland's a huge miscast as Drake though. I'm sure he's decent and perfectly likable in the role, but there's nothing remotely Drake esque about him based on the trailer, very odd choice.

I like Holland as Spider-Man, but agree that doesn't quite fit here. It isn't even the youthful look, it's his general confusion in every shot of that trailer. He always looks like his next line is "what do mean, Mr. Stark?"

You'd be surprised what accents some Americans don't understand. I'm from Hampshire, speak RP and have to slow it down and up the poshness of it anywhere that's not the East Coast otherwise people won't understand me.
Film looks like a fairly run of the mill adventure film, fuck knows how it'll turn out but the trailer was far too scattergun.

Looks alright, that's another couple of hours I don't have to think while I wait to die.

I think it looks okay actually, and certainly very Uncharted. Aside from Tom Holland being horribly miscast, which is a shame.

I understand it's a prequel of sorts but...it's seems like an odd casting choice.

He's only 5"7 ffs, sounds and looks about 12.
Its annoying me because the film looks pretty good fun.

I've not played the Uncharted games, but I expected Drake to be both older and larger. Not someone who looks like they're fitting the job in in between paper rounds.
Edit. Beaten to it by monkey.

This feels like a film destined for The Rock to turn up and soft reboot in a sequel

Only if it's set in Hawaii.

Looks very three stars.
I get this is a prequel, but Holland's about 25, he's not going to suddenly grow another 20cm is he? But I guess that's Hollywood. Tom Cruise is too short to be a navy pilot too*.
*And Val Kilmer is too tall. There, now you've won a pub quiz.

Wasn't Wahlberg attached to the adaptation since the beginning? Maybe they cast around him. He's a short guy himself, they couldn't have anybody tower over him.

It gave the uncharted vibes which is a bit shit but cheesy enough to get away with it.

No one really talks about it, but I really liked the Prince of Persia movie, actually.

It doesn't look much different to a fairly large amount of blockbuster trailers.
Probably not for me, but then, nor are the games.

Prince of Persia was alright. Jake Gyllenhaal at least looks like he's having fun with it.

It is quite hard to believe Tom Holland as someone who could mercilessly kill 800 Serbians.

To be fair, this is set in his younger days, when he probably only killed about 50.

It'll be interesting to see whether they address the "Drake commits genocide on a regular basis" thing. Also whether or not they have any of the bollocks supernatural/mutant/whatever stuff that they wisely decided to abandon for the later entries.

Ryan Reynolds would have made a pretty good Drake, actually. He'd have just done a toned down Deadpool.

I don't mind the supernatural stuff. It's part of the genre. Indiana Jones, The Mummy, Tomb Raider.
Take that out, and it's just people finding items to sell to a museum.

I love Reynolds, I think he's a great actor and a superb comedian, but pretty much his entire comic persona is a sliding scale of Deadpool, with full-on raunch at one end and animated movie at the other. I agree that Prince of Persia was fairly decent, but then Martin Campbell is a safe pair of hands with that sort of adventure film. Am I the only one who genuinely really likes Street Fighter? It's a five star one star film.
