The Kid Detective. 7/10. Dark comedy about a PI, living off past glories, trying to solve a big case. Tonally it's a bit all over the place but that kind of works, but is also what might jar with some people (me included). Worth a watch though and is a good length at 90 mins or so.

The new Suicide Squad at the cinema
Pretty formulaic but not without it’s charm. The characters were probably not quite strong enough to elevate it to top tier entertainment - with the exception of the Weasel, who was just brilliant throughout
7 out of 10

I'm trying to remember a single good thing about Insurrection and I'm struggling. It really is a sub-par TNG episode stretched out to feature length. They didn't even do Picard growing his hair back on the youngifying planet, that might have been worth a laugh or two.

Second Coming gets more airtime than the first here You obviously didn’t grow up in Manchester. Every radio station, pub, indie bar, indie club played the first album to death in the 90s. It is the stuff of legend in Manchester....

I think els just means in his house. Second Coming definitely has some cracking tracks but as an album, I prefer the first. Not a bad track imo.

Snake Eyes
Really, really tedious, formulaic action flick, with no plot that I could make out. My mind was wandering throughout and that's usually difficult in the cinema
Why did my life turn out this way/10
Can't listen to the Stone Roses after Brown went turbobollocks with the antivax stuff. I liked a fair bit of his solo stuff too but that can fuck off as well. Was also a bit disappointed that they went ahead with the reunion after over a decade of 'no, never, no way, stop asking'

Saw them at the IoW festival and it was pretty fucking great. I can largely disassociate the art from the artist too, which helps now.

Yeah I was at Heaton park too, second night with Beady eye supporting. Was a great night from the little I can remember 😊

I'm not down with listening to Ian Brown talk, because I can't understand a word he's saying.
For context: I am Australian, and did not have a lot of exposure to Manchester accents growing up. A friend lent me a copy of The Stone Roses when I was in high school, and I could have listened to I Am the Resurrection all day on repeat.
But I watched the Made of Stone documentary at a film festival, and fucking hell I needed subtitles. I'm alright understanding most English accents, but I had ever so much trouble with those ones.

(that wasn't meant to make fun of people with those accents, just that I was surprised how difficult it was after having no issues with their music)

I’m pretty good at seperating the person from what they create when it comes to their opinions or whatever, but Clapton is where I draw the line of cuntbaggery

The very end of thw first one hooked me enough to see where the story went and the end of the second one has done the same bloody thing. The third one actually seems kind of interesting based on the cliffhanger at the end of 1978.

Johnny Mnemonic - 7/10
Hadn't seen this in a good 10 years or so. Went in not expecting much, but really enjoyed it. It's not a particularly good film, but it's proper old skool pulp cyberpunk, which was cool.
Hearing Dolph Lundgren with a non-European accent was weird.

Voyage of the Rock Aliens - 6/10.
Sci-fi musical from the 80s, cheesier than wotsits, but would watch again for the "tunes".
