There is one cunt that hits you with a shovel and knocks you over, he then proceeds to hit you until dead without you having time to move. Hopefully he is fixed.

Im not that far in and they have patched stuff even I noticed, so I really dont know how it made it through testing. Namely champion field monsters had way too much health which meant fighting them was just boring and them being able to tank and hit you out of a fully charged special meant it was basically useless. Next on the list is being able to level at bonfires. You dont have to ape bloodborne *that* much to just to force us to sit through two extra loading screens for no reason.
Which should be fairly easy to do given that the first stargazer allows you to level up there and then they just...don't do it once you meet Sophia. Feels like it's one of those design decisions they made in order to keep you returning back to the Hotel because they want you to visit this nice area they made as well as you might be missing out on NPC's and sidequests. But the Hotel is also the only place where you can upgrade weapons, do your P-Organ stuff, item shop so I dunno. I don't mind the return journey each time in the same way going back to Hunters Dream is a good place to wind down. But yeh, an option to quick level would be nice.
Naturally there are people in the comments who says the nerfs ruins the game and From Soft would never do this, depsite the fact that Radahn was absolutely nerfed at least once. I do think these would be better served in it's own difficulty level, keeps everyone happy but understand that will take more balance testing.
Shovel cunts the worst so far. I think I was able to get out of his on the ground stomp combo by mashing the dodge button at one point but can't be sure.

As for me, last night I attempted the Archbishop for the first time and let's just say I need to find/farm some bombs... Talk about good timing on that HP reduction then If only that had happened last night, you might have had him first try /humblebrag

The Specters now having more HP and dealing more damage might mean they hang around longer in boos fights too which is great. Hopefully I'll have an ally for longer than half of the Fuoco fight (which I have been putting off going back to since the weekend).

Yeah, they gave some very specific feedback on this during the demo saying it was intentional, to reinforce the idea of the hotel as a hub where the story grows (it doesn't really though does it). Same as Bloodborne as you say, but pretty painful. What they could do is stop Sophia randomly wandering about - that really pisses me off!

Obviously, Elden Ring being the gold standard had 'upgrade stats where you like but specific vendors live here' to drag people back to the hub regularly. Even From realised how annoying it is.

Patch isn't out on Xbox or windows store yet so I've just farmed 17 star fragments before they get it patched so I can slap that dirty bishop when it comes out.

Err, just beat the Archbishop on my first go (post patch). Used the big fecking sword +2 and the summon with a decent dose of flames. Might be a little OP.

The summon living longer and the health reduction probably helped a bit. Pre patch the summon would often not make phase 2.
Just need the patch on Xbox now.

Wondered why when i fired it up there was no update. Well I’ve got 6 pulse cells now but haven’t looked at the cube thing, what does it do? Also I’ve not bothered with the Fable arts stuff either, what does that do?

You charge up your Fable by hitting things and then each blade and handle has its own move. Some help you block/parry better, some are buffs, some are attacks etc.

Chapter 5 boss is definitely one you need to use the parrying for. This can take me a while.

Chapter 5 boss down. Just got to realise when to parry and switched to a bigger weapon cause it's a fight where you just need to end things quickly at certain points

Well not sure if I tried blocking instead of parry dodge on the Archbishop but with a level 1 Salamander dagger and the Spectre I killed the bastard and had 3 healths left.
Only quickly loaded it up to see if the patch downloaded, had no audio either as the wife was working from home. I didn’t even have any Thermites that I’d farmed because I just wanted to see what it was like. The spectre even made it to the end - bizarre.

Bloody hell, that's impressive - especially the health...and the spectre surviving, never experienced that.
I'd be getting insecure about my leet skillz but I don't have any anyway...and besides, my son and I took turns to take him on last night and still couldn't do it after about 20 attempts: and my son is really bloody good at Souls games. I don't know quite where I'm going wrong with him to be honest but I swear Fuoco is a cinch compared to the blobby paedo.

I killed him first go after the patch and my specter survived too. The next boss was really good and far better a fight. I surpsingly 1 shotted that too.

I caught an hour at lunch and it does seem easier. I killed the donkey guy first time, same with the champion type shourtly after. Things definitely hit a bit less hard and have less health, unless I suddenly got gud overnight.

FlexibleFeline I beat Archbishop on my third attempt the other night without the latest patch, as it wasn't available on the Xbox at that time; I'm no parry expert, so he is certainly doable (even more so now, post patch) at least against an Advance build (I am at 20 Advance and used a +4 Salamander dagger and 4-5 thermite bombs to bring his health down during the 2nd phase)... All I'm saying, don't give up

Cheers.
Well, now I know the patch is here, I'm definitely going to give him another go, before my younger son gets back and claims the xbox for the evening.

So you are basically saying you cheesed him.. Not that I'm judging If that was for me, well, I would not call throwing a couple of bombs "cheesing a boss", that's only a small part of the 2 round combat that took place. It's not like standing outside the fog gate and tossing 100's of arrows to the Maneater, for instance
