If it's that good, I'm set up with a backup PSN account in Turkey where it's about ยฃ26.

I'm kind of worried about the length too. The PC Gamer review mentions 15 hours being "the first half of the game". Can't think of many metroidvanias that big!

Knowing absolutely nothing about War Hospital I'm guessing it's another incredibly depressing game from the people behind Frostpunk.
edit: looking into it I'm wrong but they're clearly fans of the aesthetics of it!

I took a break with Hollow Knight. Did it in two 25 hour chunks. I do absolutely love it, but not likely to replay it too soon.

So many people were eager to take a dump on this game when it was first unveiled, so I'm glad it actually turned out to be good. In fairness I was one of them, so I'm eating a bit of humble pie now... It felt like something they'd tasked one of their teams with just shitting out quickly with the switch to Unity and not really divulging much more than was in the trailer. The choice of trailer music was also pretty shit, but I guess that's on the marketing team rather than the devs. The more I see of it, the more it feels like a labour of love. Happy to be proven totally wrong and it'll probably be my next game now.

On a side note, that's Boltgun finished in hard difficulty. Very enjoyable game. I actually had less trouble than during my first run on medium - skill does matter.
Should probably focus on a different boomer shooter next. Turbo Overkill sounds like a good time. Only, I need the desktop for that. I remember trying the demo on my laptop and it couldn't keep anywhere near a stable 60fps.
I'll probably keep some other game ready for the laptop.

I just read a blurb about the updates for Tomb Raider Remastered, which has me interested, but then I saw Aspyr Media and went.. ahhh shit, here we go again.

Shat the bed with the KOTOR remake. I think in general they're a pretty mediocre studio for remasters compared to Bluepoint etc.

Top Spin 2K5 announced.
Top Spin 4 was the last great tennis game and we've had shit 'real' tennis games for 10 years.
Really high hopes for this one - tennis games were such a mainstay of my youth (Virtua Tennis, Smash Court Tennis, Mario Power Tennis etc).

I don't even think the port of KOTOR 2 for Switch was even a good port but I also think part of it was out of their hands.

They've ported quite a few Star Wars games. It's basically the bare minimum, but that KOTOR 2 DLC issue was fairly poor. I could be wrong, but this looks like their first proper remaster?

Only found out recently that Romero released a Sigil 2 for Doom 2. It can be downloaded for the Beth port as well

Figure this might be a good place for thisโฆ
Anyone have any recommendations for video game versions of board games? Specifically something that me and my wife can play together?
There seems to be a ton of adaptations but they rarely seem to get much coverage so hard to tell which ones work/donโt work.

Whole bunch of video game versions of board games available at Humble for not much money, I've played Gloomhaven a lot and it's good but I've mostly played it multiplayer with people on their own machines, how well the other games work on a single device I don't know. www.humblebundle.com/games/play-pink-with-twin-sailsThere's always Board Game Arena as well, that'll allow you to play a lot of popular games too via a browser, most games work fine on mobile devices too. boardgamearena.com/

Thanks to you both - Iโll have to check out gloomhaven.
Maybe Iโm just unaware of them but board games/party games (Mario Party etc) seem like an underserved genre.

Did anyone play Fate/Samurai Remnant?
It has a free demo now - which only came out this week - but the game passed me by entirely at launch.

Fate's lore is so labyrinthine that even what I know (which is a decent bit) is not much in the grand scheme of things, but it's also structured in such a way (multiple timelines and such) that you shouldn't need all of it to enjoy Samurai Remnant's story specifically... And you can't go wrong with some Warriors gameplay! Good shout on the demo, that should eliminate any remaining hangups I have

Cheers, Junior. If you do check out the demo, please let me know what you think!
The only Omega Force game I've played is Persona 5 Strikers - although I keep eyeing up Wild Hearts - so I'm largely unfamiliar with the Warriors franchise.
As for Fate, I know a couple of games in that series came out on PS4 (made by different devs, I think?), but I couldn't tell you anything about them.

As for Fate, I know a couple of games in that series came out on PS4 (made by different devs, I think?), but I couldn't tell you anything about them. They started out as visual novels all the way back in 2004 with Fate/Stay Night, but there's been like one or two dozen spinoffs of varying genres (most of my knowledge comes from Grand Order, the gacha game, for example), multiple anime series, no clear consensus on a good starting point for newcomers... It can be pretty daunting The premise (in simple terms, it can get a lot more complicated depending on the entry) is that every so often, there's an event called a Holy Grail War: a handful of Masters (usually trained mages, sometimes normal humans with untapped potential), each with their own Servant (historical or mythological figures that had enough of an impact to become Heroic Spirits, that are given new bodies and great power when summoned) fight it out (to the death, more often than not), whoever wins gets to wish for anything they want on whatever the Holy Grail equivalent for that war is, hence the name. Very straightforward, on a surface level, but there's been so many characters, timelines and overarching enemies and storylines that it's kind of a pain to understand it all, even with some games (like, hopefully, Samurai Remnant as I said) being relatively self-contained

Oh, and many historically male people are incarnated as women instead. King Arthur becoming Artoria Pendragon is probably the most famous one because she was probably the first Servant to be introduced, as the MC's Servant in Stay Night, but then you've got multiple Knights of the Round Table also being women, Leonardo da Vinci becoming the spitting image of (animefied) Mona Lisa, if you're wondering why Raikou is a woman in Nioh 2 Team Ninja are probably Fate fans (Shuten-Doji is also female in Fate, but TN didn't go that far) and so on

Playing Atlas fallen (by deck 13) and its the most mid game you can find. There is nothing really bad like Gollum game or anything like that. it feels like an AI made a game by taking every common game design trope you think of. The side quests are just the standard go here and kill this/and collect that. Feels like the devs shat them out like most devs do with games.
The game feels like bits darksiders 1 and 2, bits of kingdoms of amalur with a bit of monster hunter where you can target bit of the monster, it would be better if you chopped off the leg it would have trouble moving but the devs didn't bother.
I do think some studios are stuck in cycle of the same old game design and refuse to evolve the forumula for game design
