I know there's loads of shit out in the meantime but nothing will kid me that this isn't the game I really want after that. It's gonna be one drawn out month.

It hasn't looked it in any of the videos they've released so far.

If some of these gameplay bits we've seen are AI and not other players then it looks better than the AI from the others.

Easy Allies have a 25 min hands-off preview up. Basically Sony showed the State of Play early and ran them through a load of stuff from the game in far more detail.

There are actually a couple of road tracks in FH5 that capture the feel as good as you are going to get for now

Why did you have to mention Ridge Racer.. now I feel sad.
This looks pretty decent but having played F1 a lot last year for my 'simulation' feel game, I don't know if I can be bothered to play anymore. I've got Forza Horizon 5 to play and I had a blast with 4.

That looks suitably sterile, as GT always has to me and isn't a criticism, and very very good looking in places. The loading looked swift too, just a few seconds from menu to track which is a literal game changer. I did think this would be the one to make me restart the hunt for a PS5, but turns out not to be the case. Just another to add to the pile when I eventually succumb and get to slurp up the greatest hits.

The wet weather stuff looked like it could be incredible for endurance races and proportionally scaled events. Looks to me like it's going to be a souped up version of GT Sport with a massive career mode, once you see past the batshit levels of detail on history of car companies and music rallies.

I love driving games and I've got some PSN credit, so I'll likely get this. But man, I wish it was less of a car *owning* game and more of a car *racing* game. Don't understand the raised ass temps honestly.

I'm on the opposite end. There are enough racing sims out there. I'd rather mess about with weird cars and collect shitbox hatchbacks.

I hope I enjoy this as much as I enjoyed GT3. At the time it has the perfect balance of the car porn and buying with the racing.
Unfortunately I think a lot of that enjoyment was from spending 2 hours on an endurance race which isn’t likely to happen for me these days.

I mean collecting cars is part of it but the vast majority of your time is still racing. And GT Sport absolutely nailed the feeling of the cars which is why I'm so looking forward to it.
But yes buying a shitty hatchback and turning it into a rocket car is also a lot of fun.

Yeah GT Sport really nailed the racing side, finally. If GT7 is just that with PS5 level visuals and a meaty career/collection mode you'd expect from a mainline GT title then I'll be happy as a pig rolling in shit with it. I'll probably play it consistently for the next few years.
Also, music replays.

Have they released a track list yet at all?
That’s the key thing for me. You have as many versions of a Nissan Skyline as you like, but if the track collection is a bit naff it will all get a bit dull pretty quickly.
I want all the classic GT tracks, including a souped up version of Red Rock Valley Speedway, which is the best one but vanished after GT2.

Tangent, but I absolutely love the sterile look of GT. It totally reminds me of a showroom for a premium car brand
I think other car games really miss the ticket there, beautiful cars ruined with gamer-green neon menus and wub wub wub music and a gobshite announcer shouting at you about the latest DLC while the camera zooms all over. You might assume this is a US vs. Japan style thing but to be honest British devs are as responsible for this as anybody. It's almost like they're embarrassed that they're "just" a car game sometimes and feel they have to insert faux excitement into every microsecond of your experience. Give me smooth jazz and clean fonts any day

I do wish they would tidy up the menus to be a little more user friendly. But I definitely appeciate it being just a car game and ignoring all the tat you get attached to others.

There is just something about GT racing that feels so organic, often in other games tracks become too much of a drag fest and feel really similar to one another. I appreciate forza for what it is but I have always been a huge fan of collecting cars, track racing, time trials and simple tuning.
And I agree too many racing games go for the Dirt style presentation that oozes late 90's MTV. I mean Dirt 5 is fine for what it is but its interchangeable with 2-4.
Honestly this game and a new project Gotham game and Dirt Rally 2, would satisfy all my racing needs for the next decade.

I'm not a car owner or enthusiast at all. Looking at performance upgrades on cars scares me unless I see a big number go up. But GT7 intrigues me, I wonder if it will still be OK. I do like racing games with big career modes. Project Cars 3 has been OK but has its issues with progression and AI.
