Iran bombed Israel, a nuclear armed state, just a few weeks ago. An alleged nuclear armed state surely you mean!

Still can't quite believe that criminal is going to be in the White House next year and not a prison cell.

He probably wouldn't have been sent to jail, even if he had lost.

As I can practically see Devonport from my window I guess I'd better stock up marshmallows.

To toast or for afters when your teeth will have fallen out? We're only up the road in the middle between Plymouth and Portsmouth so think it will get rather toasty here too.

A full nuclear exchange means you either die fast or die slowly pretty much anywhere in the UK, I live in a garrison town so I know I'd be lucky enough to be in the fast category.
Putin is full of shit though, his red lines have been crossed over and over again and he keeps moving the goal posts to new red lines. Fuck him.

I live 10 miles away from AWE so I’m assuming I’ll be in the “fast but not immediate” death area 👍

I was looking at Potassium Iodide tablets on Amazon yesterday! Also Tamiflu for H5N1.... I wasn't worried that much, as I don't really think NATO, Russia or China want to be destroyed. But I read "Nuclear War A scenario" recently and that got me going again.... North Korea launch a single ground launched ICBM targetting Washington DC. While the Pentagon gets into action, figuring out where it's going, likelihood of success, ballistic countermeasures, getting the President and Vice President to make decisions and also get to safety etc etc, a North Korean sub pops up off California and fires a short range nuke onto a nuclear powerstation.
The US chain of command is broken (as the Pres is missing in Washington) but the command goes out to retaliate against Korea. Russia misinterpret the missiles heading over their territory as an attack on them, the Chinese consider it an attack on them, and the whole lot fly. It's over in 30 minutes.

I'll be honest, literally everything in that scenario is just totally absurd.

Well I guess it's done on the prerequisite that countries do not communicate with each other which we know they unequivocally do, especially in this area.

Yeah not to mention, the idea of North Korea actually threatening the mainland of the USA was ludicrous in that old Xbox game (Homefront?) and it still is now. Recent experience in Ukraine has shown that sadly they are a bunch of starving goose steppers without any useful military application.
I once met a N.Korean refugee in previous employment, she had escaped hanging on to the underside of a lorry if I remember correctly.

Guardian reporting that Storm Shadows have been used in Russia itself for the first time. Oh no, a red line has been breached again! Weird that it wasn't a red line when they were blowing up Crimea which Putin said was Russia.
Oh well, guess we'll see what the next red line is, something pointless I bet.
I do wonder if Harris had won whether or not Biden would have changed his view on the use of American (and by extension allied) weapons could be used within Russian borders?

My suspicion is that Biden’s team think when Trump says “end the war” he means ‘Ukraine surrenders and gives up loads of territory to Russia’ so the decision to take the breaks off is an attempt to push Russia back and/or give Ukraine a stronger hand if/when ceasefire talks are opened.
If Harris had won then Ukrainian surrender wouldn’t be the US’s default position so the war would continue as it has been.

It could be his last hurray, actually, "Payback is a bitch" moment to Donnie, similar to Trump's withdrawal from Afghanistan that Biden had to honor.
Edit: I just hope we, the RotW, don't get caught up in the crossfire...

It’s ok for us in Blighty, Hurricanes will tip the ICBMs with their wing tips and send them harmlessly off course, like we did in the last war.

It's easy to get where you need to, just weave through all the piled up cars. At high speed preferably. I sometimes wonder about those mass evacuation scenes, why are they finding it so difficult to leave the area. Then I remember I sometimes struggle to leave the end of my road on a Saturday lunchtime thanks to the McDonald's round the corner. Hopefully the Golden Arches will be a first strike target.

I live in a village but its close enough to two towns that there’s zero chance we’d make it out into open country without being stuck in a classic cinematic evacuation traffic jam. And thats before factoring in having to get across one of the three major A roads anyone leaving Tyneside would use if they wanted to head north following a satnav.

I also live in a village but it gridlocks when the infant/junior school kicks out, and I doubt I'd even be able to get onto the main street in a disaster evac situation... so we'd have to go cross country on foot.
