Also Danno your pawn might be a bit traumatised. I got her killed. It wasn't pretty. The usual panic in the dark. Everyone died apart from me but even then it was close. I only lived by dragging myself to the nearby town and got the soldiers there to muck in. By the time it was all over I couldn't save her.

Shit, so those sphinx riddles are on a timer? I’ve already rested a few times to progress some other stuff. Balls. I’ve probably got a couple of days left but I’ll need to find that bloody token somewhere. I’m going to guess it’s in melve but I really don’t know. Then I’ve got to trek back up there as I didn’t have a port crystal. Seems to just be the token one (so far anyway) The bloody thing kept me awake last night pondering wtf I'm going to do. I think I'm already 2 and a half days into it and have rested at an inn, so guess I can just keep going back to that save if needs be (should've thought to do that before I started the quest damnit) My current plan is to switch to trickster and get the perk that supposedly makes things easier, then retrace my steps as best I can.

Bloody hell. This game is, indeed, Harryhausen as fuck. Do I… have to fight this thing?!? Ha. That was immense. Did you meet her? I ended up there yesterday. It was very harryhausen indeed. Couldn't have described it better than Danno did myself tbh. It was brilliant fun.

Also my apologies to Sophia's owner for not taking good care of them. The old archer version of her got turned to stone.
No revive option at all, and she disappeared, so i assume that's what happened.
Sorry.

This person however is definitely a him. And the answer to my question was yes. If you think it’s harryhausen now, just wait. Edit: oooo hold on. You’re talking about someone else. I think I know who you mean. Haven’t met her yet!!

I had my first case of Dragonsplague last night. (Yes, it was Billy. Of course it was.) Thing is, I was in a late-game area at the time, and I didn't have easy access to a high cliff with a body of water underneath; accordingly, I had to kill the poor chap in piecemeal fashion, which was every bit as horrendous as it sounds. I began by throwing him off the highest point I could find, causing him to take damage, then called him back to me so I could do it all over again. My mage pawn healed him in full as soon as he rejoined us at the top of the precipice.
I tried again.
The same thing happened.
I realised that if I carefully aimed Billy at a particular spot in the canyon below, he'd be set on fire and draw the attention of nearby enemies, which surely ought to do the trick.
With a heavy heart, I slung him over my shoulder despite his protestations, took aim, and let fly.
Moments later, he was engulfed in flames while battling several Saurians - standing tall and fighting for all he was worth, to be sure, but destined to fall ere long.
Choking back tears, and unable to watch what was taking place, I turned to my other pawns.
"Goodnight, sweet pr-- hey, where are you going?!"
Clearly no happier about standing idly by and watching Billy's demise than I was, they both raced to his aid.
I tried calling them to my side, but they took no notice; I attempted to cross the canyon myself and head towards my destination, summoning them all the while, but they ignored my entreaties and remained with their fellow pawn.
Eventually, after several reloaded saves and a Tarantino anthology's worth of swearing, I managed to incapacitate poor Billy and head for the nearest inn, with the anxiety-inducing 'pawn down, SOS!' noise blaring from my controller the whole way.
Billy didn't seem to be holding a grudge when I summoned him back from the nearest Riftstone, but I'm fairly sure I've been scarred for life.

I got the “tink” “tink” daggers that indicate where loot is.
Loot is EVERYWHERE ffs. Constant noise. They’re the best I’ve got by some way but I can’t use the bloody things!

UlythiumI… I don’t know what to… I mean… On one hand I’m thinking “you monster”, but on the other well, it’s Billy isn’t it. He has it all coming. I think everyone should kill Billy to be safe. He already died in my game last night mind you. In fact he’s died in two consecutive sessions. Oh well. Billy, it’s time for me to show you the view again old friend.

wunty If it helps, I felt pretty awful about the whole thing! I only realised that something was amiss when he made a comment that seemed snarkier than usual. Hailing him gave me a good look at his eyes, which were glowing red - 'twas then that I knew what I must do. Even though pawns aren't handcrafted NPCs with individual personalities, like those you can have as party members in Mass Effect or Final Fantasy, I've grown fond of my motley bunch. (Probably because I've spent my entire 51-hour journey with the exact same group, which I'm sure isn't what Capcom had in mind.)

To be fair, pawns are handcrafted too... By other players at that. Makes it all the more brutal when your friend's pawn has to meet a grisly end at the hands of gravity

I agree, up to a point... but no matter how much time another player spends crafting his or her pawn during character creation, it'll still trot out the same canned dialogue as anyone else's at the end of the day (using one of a small number of voices, to boot)
Despite this, the pawns manage to have distinctive personalities - no mean feat, all things considered.

Late-game, bordering upon end-game, spoiler - proceed with caution: Holy shit, the difficulty spike when you get into Moonglint Tower is insane. Raghnall could literally two-shot me, while the False Sovran could take me out in a single hit (from full health, at level 45 or so). In each case, I only prevailed by spamming Cutting Wind... which pretty much trivialised the fights in question.

Gah, I need to get back on this! Absording a new job makes it a tad difficult, albeit temporary.
By the way, for information, it constantly rains in burnley. Like, constantly.

Nah, concentrate on the job mate. I'm glad to hear you've got one, especially one that seems to be exactly what you were looking for.

The Harve to Bataal(sp) shortcut is pretty wild! Love this game so much.
Also having only just hired BillyB I don’t think I can do without him, absolutely hilarious.

Perhaps I'm being hopelessly naive, but if you need to get rid of a pawn due to plague, can you not just dismiss them?
I know you all love murdering the poor bastards, but come on.

Back on my PS5. I'm miles behind you lot. Without giving too much away, how do I do this masquerade quest? I have the mask and a fancy jacket and trousers but I don't know if that's the right garb, or even if it's the right day yet. Yes, that’s all you need. Just rest until nightfall, then go to the location marked on your map. The guards outside will tell you if there’s no ball on that day, in which case just rest until the next evening. When you’re in there you need to follow someone. Don’t do what I did and ignore the brief cutscene to go hit the dance floor instead, because it’s not all that obvious where you need to go if you don’t follow the lead. Thanks for this. I followed it exactly, clocked where the guy in the cutscene was and what he looked like, and still didn't have a clue where to go or what to do. I'm all for games not holding your hand, but there's an art to gently guiding the player and I'm not sure they've nailed it in this.

The coronation ‘quest’ was pretty weird too. Poor Woddy still feels bad about it.

What level is everyone now? I think I'm around early twenties
