Not sure where that last guess came from tbh.
My general tactic is to eliminate 4 consonants in the first guess, then add in a couple of vowels in the second to give me a shot on guess 3.

Curse of the double letter meant I spent a very long time trying to figure out what could go between the I and L for my third guess. After that, just felt like luck as to whether I hit upon the right word.

It’s like how you shouldn’t play patterns of numbers in the lottery, because you’ll have to split the prize with everyone else who did the same. |

I find around 4-5 turns is my sweet spot for enjoyment, I like the process of working to the answer, getting it in 1 would be a big disappointment. A you’re right about the lottery though. When I hear that several people have to share the jackpot my first thought is ‘pfft, mugs’ |

I decided to avoid strategic starting words and just go with my gut. You don't have to follow a strategy to not use a word with 2 of the same letters as a starter, except the strategy of not being a numpty.

Sure, but do you roll your eyes at people who beat Asylum Demon in the first encounter with black firebombs, or wear armour they like the look of that doesn’t have the best stats? I know river isn’t a good starting word, I don’t care, I just choose to start with whatever random 5 letter word comes into my head and go from there. |
