HOVER SHAKE SHINE
Don't usually post in this thread but I've seen 2 people complain about American spelling for today's wordle which doesn't make sense based on the word I got.

Yep puzzle 324 as Red_Bool said. Seems to be a caching issue, some people still working off the pre-NY Times takeover word list.

Yeah, they removed it given the state of the US at the moment.

My strategy in these cases is to try words that at least follow English spelling rules (if those exist, I'm going by instinct) and "sound" like they could be English words.
Lately I've been forced to do this more often. I don't understand why. There's so many normal 5-letter words they could use, but noooo let's use words that only crosswords experts know...
Anywordle is much better in that regard (no weird words so far) and that can do up to 9-letter words. At least there when words tend to become too long, I simply start placing X-s where I don't know the right letters. It's amazing how your brain can fill in the blanks.

As a few of us seemed to have similar layouts, here's my guesses.... STARE PLANE BLAME

I had the same, except my starting word was SOARE. We're just at that stage where those are the most obvious choices.

Only 80% of people got today's Wordle, which is easiest the lowest I've seen since I had that wordlebot thing - it's always 90%
You can see why - I however got extraordinary lucky with my 1st guess of HORNY which only left one word apparently.
Also the 1st time I've started with that - I vary every day - so a massive fluke.

CREAM POINT SOUND FOUND BOUND WOUND I guess a 50-50 chance on the last attempt (WOUND or HOUND). I chose...poorly. Oh well, at least I got Anywordle in 2 attempts (always have a backup puzzle!)

deez Good work with Horny. According to Scordle, you could also have had Hoing and Hoons! I thought the former would be hyphenated, assuming it's the present tense of to hoe...

So, 'snarf' is an actual word that's allowed though. Can't wait for that to come up at some point.
