I realised in an earlier match that I couldn't hit confirm to save my life so I spent 5 minutes practicing before I played you but every time I pressed 2 jabs I can't stop myself from dping š
I found it funny that if we both low on health we can't go longer than 10 seconds before we try a random super š

You did better than the other night! The difference is the same as the difference between me and the people who kick my head in, pretty much; leaving damage on the table. You need one combo you can hit consistently and one combo into super.
Nothing I do is remotely optimal or consistent, so better players pull away really fast. I can just hit basically the same two combos like 80% of the time.

God, DJ is a proper twat in this game. He seems extremely good - fast and with some absurd setups. Lost 10-5 to an Italian using him yesterday but it felt more like 10-1 it was such a struggle. Dude... we're ALL old. Anyway I don't think I've loved a Street Fighter this much since vanilla 4 tbh. It's just so fucking good. Yeah there is something really great here huh. This is literally what happens with me. I get by on fundamentals but then when more complex combos are required (using Drive Cancel / V Trigger / Focus Attack) I take ages to learn them so generally drop in ranks. But hey, unless youāre going for that $1 million, SF can be a marathon rather than a sprint eh? |

The worst is messing up an input and then getting tunnel vision until I fix the problem. I guess thatās why I was better at VF than most other fighting games, the execution barrier is much lower and you can kind of play it by feel.

I've nearly finished with the World Tour mode and managed to get all the costumes. I wanted to get it out of the way so that I needn't have to touch it ever again.
Some of these final fights are just silly. My heavy blows are doing 300 damage versus opponents that can hit singularly for 3000+ damage, and that's before some of their more silly combos are even factored in. They also have ridiculous health pools. To make matters worse you have to defeat 5 opponents in a row at the end without the chance to buy extra healing.
Fuck this mode, I'll be glad to be done with it.

You only have to increase the bond lvl to 100. If you find the correct gift for each character, then you go up 5 levels each time you gift it. You'll unlock emotes, artwork, profile stuff as well as costume 2 for doing so.
The gifts themselves are fairly pricey, but the scrap heap job is decent for grinding zenny.
I did originally buy 5 costumes, as I couldn't be arsed going through World Tour, but I did end up caving and playing it as there's quite a few others that I liked. I'm at lvl 100 bond with everyone but JP now as you need to finish it to unlock him as a master, but his costume was one of the 5 that I'd bought to begin with.

I've been playing SF2 since 1992, so there's very little chance of me adapting to a new control scheme but thanks  I'm still trying to ween myself off of multi-button presses for Chun-Li, Honda et al! |

Went home for a spot of lunch and had a GOOD old time with Gief in ranked mode. I think I might keep him for a bit as playing as him is making me far more patient in looking for cracks in my opponent's offense. Well until Onny and Nick whup my arse.
Also met my first Dhalsim whose playstyle could be summed up as jump away and teleport to the other side with down heavy fierce and quit after the first loss.

Hard to say but Iām still using the pad. It works perfectly in that you plug it in and it just works. I think my stick is fucked, though. I was complaining during the beta that the steam version felt laggy and I think the stick is the issue.
On the PS5, the stick lags when you hold a direction and let go. Like if you hold down, it doesnāt snap straight up when you let go. Iām going to take it apart and give it a clean at the weekend, maybe order a new joystick. Thereās no lag on the buttons so I think itās just a build up of filth on the stick microswitches.

I just had the stupidest epiphany š
I was wondering why I was so bad at drive impact and when I was practicing I realised that my finger hovered 10 centimetres above the button, as soon I rested my finger on the button I did a lot better š
