That really is a lovely set though, I love how it all pulls apart too.

Interesting “The Scream” painting fact (courtesy of QI last night lol)
The figure in the painting is not screaming. The artist was trying to interpret his feelings from his surveying of a natural landscape where the colours, weather and noise was “screaming” at him and the figure represents his feelings from the experience.
Art eh? What’s that all about? (And how on earth are certain pictures worth more than the society that preserves them?!)

Historic preservation mostly?
Interesting titbit on the subject matter though.

Unless they release an expansion to The Office, the set I'm most looking forward to this year is the Snow White set.
I know I won't be getting Rivendell, mostly due to the price but also I have nowhere to display it

Lego Up house has been revealed accidentally by a German retailer.
It looks great, one of the family favourites so will definitely be buying. Out April 1st at a rumoured €60. It has three minifigures.
Also leaked to be coming out in that day is the Lego Disney Celebration Train. It's a small train and each carriage is a celebration of a different movie eg Toy Story, Peter Pan, Moana.
It's not spectacular but it might be worth getting for all the various minifigures from different franchises.

So Lego Rivendell set now available to VIPs and there is a double GWP (Brickheadz Frodo & Gollum plus Houses of the World 1). Combi value approx £30 available for 2 more days.
£430 though! That’s only £160 approx short of PSVR2 bundle + GT7!
Can’t decide how popular/likelihood of 20-30% discount down the line this set might get to tho and how well it will hold its value. Lovely thing about Lego (best sets often holding the majority of their value 2nd hand good cond and box withstanding and sometimes even appreciating)
Part of me thinks it will sell well but def price prohibitive in these times and set size demands a lot of space. Get the feeling Lego will keep sets rolling out now to demand. Not like the older sets that may go hard to find sooner…
/ponders
Anyone else eyeing it up?

It looks absolutely gorgeous and if I had the monies I’d buy it. I think the chance of it being discounted at all are about zero

I'd love it too, but the price is just too prohibitive. I also wouldn't be waiting for a price drop anytime soon.

The LEGO Tallneck is such a beautiful set, spent a good few enjoyable hours building it and it's now pride of place on my home office desk - can't stop looking at it, it really is such a well designed set.

It's gonna cost a fortune but I'm always tempted with the gaming themed lego.

The Tallneck is £63.99 on Amazon at the moment, seriously tempting

That's a good deal. If I had any cash at the moment I'd be tempted.
The 'alternative brick tribute' site I use had preorders of Rivendell up for €160. If I had the cash I'd be sorely tempted

The Tallneck is good - definitely worth it at that price.
I’ve just finished Optimus Prime. Good fun to build and especially clever that they’ve got it to transform. I’m running out of space to put these sets on display now.
I need - NEED - a new set to build then… I’m quite tempted by that new UCS X-Wing set they’ve got coming for Star Wars day…

I am sure someone has made a lego based one that hooks into the original design and is quite invisible.
Will see if I can find it.

Has anyone here ever tried a set from Mould King ? Because I've seen what looks like a Mammoth Tank on Amazon made by them and it's really quite tempting.

I think the seller produces them on a 3D printer as I've found out you can buy the STL files, I wonder if I can find someone with a printer locally .....

Just about completed the first (lower) section of the Saturn V, quite an intricate build so far with a couple of rather delicate/tricky bits so far, would definitely be a challenge with someone with no patience, it's nice and big though, looking forward to carrying on with it. And thank goodness there are no stickers, all printed bricks, I hate stickers in Lego.

Sorry Freddie I had a good look through for the system I was thinking of but couldn't find a link to it at all. Perhaps I imagined it

nexus6 No worries, I think I'll just have to stump up for the ebay set.

I've bought some 3D printed stands from someone in Australia before. Was very very impressed. It was the only person I could find doing them at the time.
However now alot of people seem to be doing them and probably using the same files.
Well worth it imo

I've done a few sets since last I posted in here (including a difficult but ultimately rewarding one with lighting by Funwhole). The one I'm currently building is really enjoyable and has a lot more details than I expected. Here's a picture of the box from the seller (Letbricks though apparently this particular set originates from Reobrix).
