I paid £8 for Sonic Mania a year ago and still haven't played it so in the unlikely event I need to get a Sonic fix I'll just go and play that.

The only pro to this re-release is that it’s allegedly the remastered Whitehead versions instead of just their usual rom dumps + hacks.

Well you know they're selling them to the same person who hasn't played Skyrim or GTA V. But from a business sense it's something to tie into the release of the second movie. You can imagine a lot of kids will want it and those people who can't seem to stop themselves from triple dipping. |

Yeah, that's why a lot of Sonic fans were excited about the announcement, as it looks to be the definitive package for the original games (at least the Mega Drive ones). But £35 is insane, and all the DLC/pre-order stuff is just complete bollocks. I wonder if they'll do a u-turn and just include all the content in the base package if they get enough negative feedback. |

So this is the four originals, technically 5 if you include sonic and knuckles as a separate game. Then remastered levels of all the games?
That's decent but 35 still too much.

Yeah it's the original, CD, 2 and S3&K. Not sure you can play 3 or Knuckles separately.

It’s the engine that’s remastered. The only visual upgrade is widescreen.

Yoku was a really great game. I don't think I would be insane enough to buy it 10 times, like I will almost certainly so with Sonic 1 and 2.

Yoku was great but let's not be daft.
It's a shame they're not including more stuff from the Sonic Jam collection - there was some decent fan stuff in there.
Always have a soft spot for Sonic Spinball and Sonic R too (though I imagine they've aged terribly).
I'll still buy it - it's all the best Sonic games on one disc. No brainer.

Yeah, after they stiffed Sonic on the last Mega Drive Collection thing I’d want the whole package this time - 8 and 16bit versions, Mean Bean Machine, Chaos, the lot. Otherwise I still get all the Sonic hit I need from Mania A quick check tells me even the Xbox 360 Mega Drive Collection had Sonic & Knuckles, Sonic 3D, Sonic Spinball, Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and Dr Robotnik’s Mean Bean Machine. I thought it had Sonic CD too but even so that’s still more than this even before you chuck on all the other first party titles the collection had. |

All of the individual titles in the collection are being pulled from all digital storefronts on 20th May with a couple of exceptions on Switch only.
