I am so very, very glad they didn't go with the concept art version of Sera for Inquisition where they made her look like that bint off Die Antwoord.

Quite looking forward to playing this. Would be great to see bioware get back to something like their best form as the action RPG space is much better with them doing well.

IGN and GameSpot were also pretty positive in their own previews.
Dare we dream?

Skillups video (done by Austin) is really good, he goes into a bit of detail and spoils nothing. Well worth a watch.

I've somehow missed the Dragon Age games, am I going to be able to pick this up and know what's going on?

pierrepressure I didn't play either of the first two, but I did play the third (Inquisition) and didn't feel at all lost. I reckon you'll be fine.

There is a recap and something else the previews can't speak about that brings you fully up to speed

This is looking more like Fantasy Mass Effect the more I see of it. Which I am totally down with.

Yeah it's good to be seeing so many positive previews for a Bioware game after so long.

Looks like god of war from the bit I saw which I don’t want from BioWare. Hopefully it’s amazing though as old BioWare games are some of my all time favourites. I just think maybe games have moved on and BioWare don’t have the old magic . I used to love BioWare writing but the stuff I’ve seen so far seems so far behind the likes of 2077, rdr2, bg3.

I just hope the writing delivers. That was what I loved about Origins, it was derivative guff but it was well written and voice acted derivative guff. The world building was excellent and despite the brown graphics it really felt like an adventure across not Middle-Earth with a rich history, ancient secrets etc etc. It had such momentum once it got going.
Since then, Bioware have still done well written party characters but the epic quest stuff hasn't been well replicated. DA:I was ok but the open world aspects were ridiculous and killed that momentum.

I'd forgotten how much I love Vivienne in DAI.

Big head mode as standard? https://www.reddit.com/r/dragonage/comments/1fllp8l/dav_spoilers_are_the_proportions_bothering_anyone/
I think its part of the reason the designs look off (apart from the fornite style purple explosion graphics

Anyone fancies doing a replay of Inquisition before Veilguard, I finally got off my procrastinating arse and wrote the modding guide I promised I'd do back in October last year.

Can't say this doesn't read nicely (even though I'm a complete Dragon Age noob)... I might give this a shot if we get it

Some fantastic comments on that Gamespot article
"Game is to woke for my blood, hard pass." followed by "Lol you can just see it in the art style 😂. It’s not even about the politics now, when they announce a game, you can Just tell in the presentation, art design, character, models, etc., etc. It’s kind of hard to pinpoint exactly what it is, but I’m sure you know what I’m talking about."
I'm glad I don't "see it". I enjoyed Inquisition, wasn't too fussed about this after that first video as the art style looked a little off and combat seemed too easy, but the more I see and read the more I'm getting sucked in.

It's just such an utterly meaningless word at this point. Seems to have totally lost the original meaning and just means "fings wot I dunt like", which obviously is completely subjective so the definition varies from imbecile to imbecile.

Tried to pick up inquisitor again in preparation, yeesh, looked like pish and story seemed overly convoluted. No wonder I dropped it before.

I've reached the point in my Inquisition replay where I'm struggling to decide who to take into The Fade.
Bringing Solas because he's the expert, and Varric because he'll be chatty with Hawke, but my third choice is difficult.
I remember on previous occasions I brought Sera and she hated it and freaked out, and Cole had a near meltdown. I think Cassandra might have some extra dialogue about Divine Justinia, wondering if Blackwall might have some interesting stuff because of it being a Warden-centric mission.
Don't have any idea what to expect from Dorian, Vivienne or Iron Bull though, but I can't imagine any of them having more interesting stuff than the others.

Veilguard is out three weeks today, and I'm... kind of excited for it, actually.
I can see this being one of those posts that ages like fine milk, but I reckon it'll be the start of BioWare's comeback.
All that having been said, I haven't pre-ordered a copy - I'm stupid, but not *that* stupid. I'm waiting for reviews!

It'll be a day one for me.
I'm steaming through the Inquisition replay now, most of my compulsive completionist stuff is out of the way apart from two very irritiating pieces of the last mosaic in Skyhold.
I was fully intending to make Leliana the new Divine, but the more I gather from their intentions with what they would do with the position, I'm now leaning more towards Cassandra for it.
I had to do the fight against the Hakkon Dragon twice last night, as the first time it died while perched on top of a ledge where I couldn't then reach the skull which somehow contained all its' valuables.
