It’s better than Dreadwolf, which just sounds like a crap metal band.

Veilguard sounds like a wedding accessory weather repellant though…

If they drop 'the' from the subtitle it'll read much better.

It does make it easier to make up a name if the game bombs. Failguard, Failhard, etc

When games go through development hell, they are mostly not very good, will be interesting to see what the game is like.

The Guardian of The Veil would have worked better but I suppose everything needs to be SomethingGuard nowadays.

People will probably just call it Dragon Age 4 as it'll be easier anyway.

I'm with rhaegyr - while I still prefer Dreadwolf as a title, Dragon Age: Veilguard would be much better than Dragon Age: The Veilguard.

What the fuck was that trailer? Fucking hell it looked like some F2P co-op game.

I actually laughed when the Dragon Age logo came up at the end. Honestly thought the same kind of thing, as I'm clearly not enough of a superfan to realise it was even a DA game.

Pretty much a 50:50 like/dislike ratio on the YouTube trailer - 2K vs. 1.7K at the time of writing.

The dislikes have taken the lead. Maybe it's just a fucking terrible pre-rendered trailer and when we see gameplay it'll be much more Dragon Age.
Fat chance of that I'm sure.

That trailer is abysmal. I really liked Inquisition, and very much want this game to be good, but holy shit it looks bad.

The art design is a... choice. I'm not hopeful for Bioware's future.

Andromeda Anthem Veilguard
Three strikes and they're out? I really hope not...
... But if the next Mass Effect game is in the same vein as Dragon Age 4 looks to be, perhaps it'd be a mercy killing.

This is in the Frostbite engine again, like DA:I and ME:A were, while for ME5 they've apparently switched to Unreal 5.
Also, Varric's voice actor sounds different, like they've replaced him with a budget version of Toufexis.

the new art style looks really cartoony and does not fit what past DA games where. The trailer was a bit marvel like quippy sub-par and taking tones from other games, so it could be its not like past DA games, shame if true

I actually like the visuals on this.
It seems they have taken inspiration from graphic novels style artwork to me and I don’t mind that it is not as “classic rpg” style as the prior games. Let’s see how well the cutscenes blend into the majority of real-time game graphics. If they blend well could be a winner imo.

I dunno. It's been restarted three times and for a while an online GaaS RPG. I wonder if the art style is a hangover from those days.

I'm not a fan of the visuals at all, but what bothers me more is the tone they've chosen - this is supposed to be a fantasy RPG, so why are they introducing the characters as if it's an Overwatch-style hero shooter?

The Game Informer cover makes the art somehow look even more F2P game.
