Loved the game but doubt I’d replay it tbh. One of those ones I wish I’d missed first time around

Seems a bit of a weird one to remake, but I think the vid looks great. Through my rose tinted glasses it looks how I thought it looked when I first played it, but it probably looks really last gen now.
This might be controversial, but I thought it was the better game, especially the dlc, and with its shorter playtime, I'd go through it again.
Not sure I'd pay full whack for it, which is looking to be 60 quid? Or even get it at launch, but would definitely get it further down the line.

If we never had The Last of Us remastered on PS4 not so long ago this would have seemed like a bigger deal. I thought Remastered at 1080p60 still looked outstanding and not something crying out for a remake in any way.
It was a pretty cutting edge late gen PS3 game that was only held back originally by dodgy frame rate and IQ, which were addressed with the PS4 version.
It's great to have, not something I'd ever drop 70 notes on, and I'm just surprised it was even a project to begin with.

There will be the HBO show, and people who were kids when the first one came out are adults now - this is not a remaster for people like us who played the game in 2014, but for a whole new audience that won‘t hesitate to pay full price for the games once the TV show launches.

Should have gone with The Last Of Us Re-remastered.
I said in the other thread that I very much doubt I would buy to do a 3rd play through.
Interested in the multiplayer game they are working on though but that sounds like a 2024 game.

I played through Remastered not too long ago, before going into 2. I was surprised at how rough some of the edges looked. Characters, animation and the like still looked pretty good, but some of the environment was flat in a way that my memory didn't recall.
The move over 2's engine should do it good. I don't feel a need to grab it when it comes out (especially not at full price!), but perhaps could see a replay of it in a year or two on PC. I loved 2 as well, but I think the plot of 1 was just structured so much better.

Not at all interested in replaying the same game, no matter what the price. Doesn't even include the Factions multiplayer, which I understand they're looking to turn into it's own standalone live service game at some point. But without it, there's no reason to go back other than watching a few vids on YouTube as a curiosity.

Reminds me of Shadow of the Colossus remaster. I played through that and never bothered with the remake, even though I have it in my collection from PS Plus.
But yeah they're cashing in on the HBO series.

It did look pretty fucking good on the side by side comparison. Never realised how unrealistic the proportions of Ellie's face were before and it'll be hard to unsee now.
I'm interested in it, but definitely not £70 levels of interest.
/edit There's going to be a $99 (£99?) firefly edition... Fucking hell what a time to be alive!

I loved the second game overall but around the last few hours of the game I was just begging for it to end.

I played the second one with a pretty big break in the middle. Played up until the open world bit and got frustrated with the sluggish controls when trying to clear the bank. Came back to it a few months later and the controls clicked with me this time around and I absolutely loved it. Probably didn't feel overly long as a result of that, but yeah they definitely could've cut a few sections.

It does look amazing but even though it has been a couple of years since playing it through, I have no interest to do so again. I loved both this and Part 2 but I very much feel they are one and done kind of games.

Agreed - played both games and adored them both but have no real urge to play them again. Some experiences are just a one off.
Hell, I'd probably call BOTW the best game I've ever played and I've never wanted to play it a second time.

I replayed the remaster before number 2 and even that felt quite dated, let alone the PS3 original. This will be very different. It’s almost more like the recent Resident Evil remakes. That said, feels a bit soon still, and honestly I’d rather they just focussed on the third one.

As I've bought it twice in not in a particularly hurt to buy it again but I'll certainly play it when it turns up on the higher tiers of PS+.
As for a need for it, yeah the remaster is showing its age and after Part II I wouldn't want to go back to it.
Very keen to see what the MP game turns out like though, the single piece of art suggests it's a lot more The Division in scale than the original MP.

Be interesting to see if there’s any kind of upgrade price for existing owners. It’s a full remake so probably not, but also feels like quite a big ask to buy it yet again.

They'll probably charge you an extra tenner on top of the £70 to upgrade knowing Sony...

I would intend to wait for a price drop but I do love ND games and could see myself caving to play them back to back over a few weeks. Interesting that they’ve redone the AI so that it plays differently, though I’m not sure how different it’ll feel in practice. Certainly a good effort remake at least.

I thought the second game was much stronger, but I might pick this up. It's been a long enough time since I've replayed it, so it'd be nice to revisit it, with much better graphics and animation.
I'm not as bothered by this remake as I was by the PS4 remaster coming only a year after its original release.

I get that, but the Uncharted upgrade I understood as it was still the same game with bump in resolution and frame rate. They're treating this a 'new' game as sorts, especially with the addendum to the title I just can't see them saying to everyone hey here's a discount if you already own the original remaster. It's the new engine, new animation, apparently a change up of some scenarios and whatnot. I think if you want it you're going to have to pony up 70 quid from the privilege.

It’ll be market researched. If it’ll make more money with an upgrade, they’ll do it.

I would hope so because 70 quid is a ridiculous asking price.
