To be fair, Push Square is full of whiny entitled babies.

Staff? Commenters? Both?

Both. Anything labeled “reaction” is either a whine or a puff piece followed by a whine.

Is this the same as when Kotaku says "everyone is mad" or "the internet is losing its mind" is in reality a few replies on a Twitter subject?

Yeah I don't really get the whining.
Just don't buy it if you don't want to, or do if you do. Pretty much anything else is really quite entitled.

I’m sure Derbs will be here soon to tell us all how much hard work has gone into it and £70 is fair. Sony4life

Yeah it's not something I understand because this release isn't for people who have played the original, it's for a new audience who haven't played any of the games or who have only played 2 and would like some parity in terms of visuals and gameplay. It's a very easy thing to ignore if you don't want it, but I guarantee the people complaining the loudest will be the people playing it day one.

I wonder how many ps5 owners are out there that haven't played the original though. That would be limiting your audience quite a bit.

I don't have a horse in this particular race, but I suspect that (as is usually the case!) any nuance the discussion may have had - have Sony/Naughty Dog overhyped the nature of this remaster? Is it worth £70.00? And so on - has been drowned out by clickbait headlines and shouty fanboyism. I wonder whether Al Gore would still have invented the internet, if he'd known the impact it'd have on our public discourse? Really makes you think

I’m sure Derbs will be here soon to tell us all how much hard work has gone into it and £70 is fair. Sony4life “YoU dOn’T lIkE wHaT I liKe tHe MoSt BeCaUsE *yOu’Re* A fAnBoY dUrR hURr” I do wonder what goes through an, I’m assuming, adults mind to pick fights with someone on the internet out of nowhere because you dislike something unrelated. Are you that insecure about your choices or just stupid? Genuinely curious. Why does someone playing different games or owning a different TV affect you in any way, shape or form, so much that you feel you need to mention them and bring it up out of nothing? I don’t care if you don’t want to buy this or if you think £70 is poor value. I only commented on your post from a week or so back because it was clearly ill-informed. I wasn’t the only one to do so. Buy and play what you want, the only person that has to like your choices is you.

I hated playing the first one but completed it just for the story. Naughty Dog make incredibly shit gameplay, just completely turd, inconsistent rubbish. The gameplay was better in the Kane & Lynch games, that’s how inept they are
Never played the second one but I’ve heard it’s no better

Kane and Lynch had better gameplay? Steady on there fella.

Well that's a hot take... I have to admit I wasn't feeling the "make every shot count" methodical gunplay and gave up on part 2 at first, but it properly clicked for me when I came back to it a few months later.

I will probably buy the remake. I barely remember the original. Is the dlc included in this?

He does have a point about their gunplay being poor though, although it was much better in last of us part 2.
If you move their gameplay into a less polished package you would be looking at 6/7 out of 10 games but the world's and characters in their games are amazing.
Rockstar games would be another one.
I will say they both feature heavily in my top 20 games of all time though so I'm happy enough with the way they play.
Welcome back Addy, now stop leaving.

I love the series warts and all, I don't feel a desire to replay part 1 though. 4 playthroughs is enough and don't think this adds quite enough to justify the 70.
It won't be 70 forever though and at a reduced price I might be tempted.
Not really sure what the fuss is about, new fans from the show or younger gamers that may not have played it, now have a viable option that's more in line with current gen.
Makes money (which is the point) for Sony and naughty dog.
Those that have rinsed it already don't have to buy it.
So no real losers, even new fans that want a cheaper option could play the original or the remastered if they wanted to save money.

Had a quick look at digital prices and it's £32 from Turkey so that's much less of a wallet buster.

I’m not saying Kane & Lynch is a good game up there BTW, just that there were some elements to the gameplay that were enjoyable
It didn’t feel anywhere near as much of a chore to play as The Last of Us did
The feeling of good mechanics, that are precise and consistent is important in a game to me. I like that feedback loop

I think it became "fashionable" to critique the gameplay aspects. Is it the best? Well no but it was definitely not as bad as some made out. Decent action/stealth/cover and (to me) always felt good clearing a room.

Still not sure why it's being compared to Kane & Lynch. Unless I've missed something.

There's always a bit of revisionism with highly regarded games. Not sure I agree with the gunplay although I never took issue with the Uncharted games (maybe the first one?) shooting either so I'm probably just easily pleased.

Nice comparison video here. At least shows why they would consider making it a full price release, a lot of work has gone into this. Still going to wait for the price to drop though.

It could be the most amazing looking game of all time, if nothing is fundamentally different about how it plays, then I would not pay this at half the price nevermind the full one. Good for anyone that hasn't played it at this point I guess.

Good for anyone that hasn't played it at this point I guess. I felt the same with the PS4 remastered version. I did eventually make a purchase but only because it was cheap. I've now played The Last Of Us three times. I refuse to play it a 4th time even if it's the best looking version.

Value is in the eye of the beholder!
I actually think it’s worth the price. I’ll wizz £70 on a night out and piss it the next day.
