True but still not the most convenient. Since last post I picked up one piece for the story and it saved, took about 15 mins to get a few memories etc and still didn't come to the next story part which seems to be the only time the autosave happens. Autosave on exit is just a weird thing not to have nowadays and considering there's plenty of places for you to sleep they could easily have allowed an autosave in those spots. Using sleep spots to save progress would have been a great user mechanic. Or even scratching the furniture

Exactly. It's not a massive deal and it's not as if it's a game where a missed save causes hours if progress to be lost, it's just a weird thing not to have. Still it's my only complaint/gripe so that's got to be a good thing.

Saves are a bit crap though as it only seems to autosave after a story moment. Twice I've had to do around 5 minutes if gameplay again when loading up. Not a lot of work really but still frustrating that you can't save on exit. I would advise you not to play any Yakuza games.

To be fair even the souls games have a save on exit so type of game doesn't really matter. Simply seems a basic feature that has been missed or not really thought out. The fact that they only do it at story points is bizarre, what's the point having HUB areas to explore if you can't save in it.
Like I said though other than that irritation it's great overall, but I still find it a valid criticism.
Edit: Now I think about it wasn't the game delayed a couple of times? Maybe they wanted to do more with the HUBs/exploration and just run out of time, would explain why the sleep mechanic which would be great as a save is even there other than one trophy.

I'm thoroughly enjoying this. Not had a single glitch or stutter with the PC version, so I must be getting lucky according to what others have said about performance.
But I shall not suffer a single Zurk to live.

Only played about 1 hour so far but liking it. The meow button Is genius. I find myself using it all the time as my cat meadows constantly.

Just finished, good fun, nothing overly taxing or new.
Gorgeous looking game I must say, and the first Annapurna game I have completed. They tend not to be my thing.

Been waiting a while for this to get released, got through it in a couple of evenings. Really enjoyed it, a relaxing and unique experience. The cat movement feels really smooth and I love all the little actions you can do just because cats gonna cat. Looks nice and the atmosphere and music are pretty good too. Refreshing to play a game without a HUD taking up half the screen and where the added stuff encourages exploration rather than just a mind numbing checklist. Missed a few memories and the speed run trophy definitely an incentive to give it another run through at some point.
Also props to the press O to meow function which is up there with the press Y to lightsaber swish on KOTOR for coolness.

While I'm not interested in Stray myself - and I'll readily admit to not liking cats *at all* - I kind of love that this game exists.
From the footage I've seen, the devs created a pretty cool cyberpunk world, then allow you explore it as a cat - nothing more, nothing less. It's not another AAA open-world collect-a-thon, nor is it Indie Dark Souls Clone Pt. 157; instead, it's doing its own thing, and just appealing to whomever is interested rather than trying to be The Next Big Franchise.
There's definitely room out there for this kind of mid-priced, short and sweet experience, and I hope they sell shedloads of copies.
Also, the 'Press O to meow' prompt is awesome.

I completed it in a day, I can really get behind a game that just lasts that long that's this good. Better than grinding something even if it's something I enjoy.
Anyway one of my favourite games of recent times.

I honestly find it extemely weird when people claim to „not like“ a particular type of animal, a mammal no less. If you‘ve been bitten by dogs, fair enough, but that‘s the only explanation that makes halfway sense. „I don‘t like dolphins!“ yeah, right.

I’m allergic to cats , they aren’t loyal like dogs, one shit on top of my wardrobe once! A dog doesn’t do that . It’s enough for me to not like them. 😄

I find having a strong reaction to a throwaway comment in a much longer post to be a trifle peculiar, but whatever - you do you, I guess!
With how many dolphins* have you personally interacted over the years? Enough to form an opinion?
By contrast, once you've reached a certain age (and most of us are probably there already!), chances are you've encountered enough cats and dogs to be able to say what you do and don't like with some degree of certainty.
* Or giraffes, or otters, for that matter

When we were on safari we saw two giraffes having a fight. They stand side-by-side and swing their necks at each other. They might be the dumbest animal there is.

“I don’t like” an animal normally just means “I’m uncomfortable with/scared of”. My gf “doesn’t like” cats and then I cat-sat for a friend and the cat decided she would be the cuddle-buddy. Within a couple of days my gf was doting over her. All experience of cats came from a couple of her friends whose cats were a bit manic.
Another mate of mine “doesn’t like animals”, except any pets of his closest friends. So basically any animals that he’s had close experience with that weren’t negative. Strange how that works.

Is "I don't like cats" really such a contentious remark? (Serious question, by the way - I have no idea!) I'm not scared of them, and I don't *hate* them or anything, but I've only ever known one cat of which I was truly fond; the others have all been kind of standoffish and snooty (not just with me, but in general), and I've never warmed to them. I always thought I was a run-of-the-mill "dog person", but it turns out I'm actually an "extremely weird" feline-loathing asshole

Cats can also be a bit temperamental don’t they? Like petting time is over, now it’s bitey scratchy time. People tend to not keep dogs around that get a bit bitey.
My parents had a cat that probably roamed the streets for two years before we got it, still have a couple scars on my arm from that little bastard.
Anyway, I like this game. Simplistic gameplay, but it’s an atmospheric world to explore with the unique vantage point and mobility of a cat. Thought I would hate the jump mechanic but I don’t see how they could have done it any other way without getting frustrating.

I grew up with three cats and despite having very different personalities, they were all affectionate in their own way. I've also had cats follow me in the street like little weirdos. I'm sure there's plenty of cats that aren't like that but I wouldn't say stand offish is just how cats are. There's just more variety. Comparatively, dogs are typically loyal and that's what a lot of people want from a pet
