Fully onboard with this tempering shit. Much better than the previous 'boost stats'. I've Kinda been ignoring it since I was swapping g gear so much but since that's pretty much stopped now I've invested mats. Can add 2 stats to ancestral too. Yes please!

Level 88 and I've still not seen hide nor hair of these Unsung Ascetic Wraps for Brian. Apparently they're this season's hot fashion item but I'll be fucked if I can find them anywhere.
What I didn't know is there is now target farming (which explains why I got multiple earthbreakers recently) from the penitent place but I'm too dumb to realise this and had to have a Google in my frustration.
Anyways, the beast in the ice is the go to for it apparently. Brian rocked up to the cave, dropped in the farming juice and in swopped beastie boi. Trample. And dead.
First fuckn drop.. gah!
Game has fully sucked me back in

This is a lot of changes. The pit being the focus is interesting, I still haven't even done it yet. I've not really been doing NMDs. Spent ages just milling around the open world doing quests for minions. I maxed out Ketchupstan, Huzzah and Scotland before actually realising that I'd already got all the chuffing paragon points already /facepalm Will smash thougu the NMDs tonight and try out the pit |

4 World Tiers being replaced with difficulty level scaling more like Diablo 3, it's now 8 levels, they should have done this from the start, all for it.

Dinged 100 last night. First toon I've maxed, both previous release and S1 only got to 86/87. I'm just finishing off the season journey, got 4 more checkpoints and then done.
I tried tormented andariel this morning, fucker is a sponge. Died a few times but I did get it down to half way but was one shot trying to avoid all the bullshit on the floor.

I think they’re just going to squish everything into the new systems for existing characters and there’ll be a new season for you to just make a new character. They definitely seem to be moving in the direction of encouraging making alt(s) per season rather than sticking with one, especially with how fast levelling is.

You'll be alright diving back in on the expansion (well, shortly after it releases because Blizzard have never knowingly got a launch right) - it will reset a lot of stuff and everyone will be learning the new ways. It's still Diablo, how badly can they mess it up?* *shhhh |

I did the first hour or so this morning. Love me a good Blizard cinematic.
They’ve futzed with the levelling and itemisation, as expected, but it’s still sad to see my level 100 become a 50 and all my gear from August is now legacy.
It’s Diablo IV in a new biome. Nice to be back in a tier story after the relatively lightweight seasonal content.

Yeah, will probably look into it later. Is it a case of rolling a new seasonal char even for the main campaign stuff, as opposed to continuing with one on the Eternal Realm (which I presume still locks you out of seasonal content)?

Hehe, yeah, I kinda feel the same with my Rogue, who was my first character.
I can still never really shake that attachment to first characters in anything even vaguely like an MMO, tbh. Even when I've played a gazillion seasonal toons since. I do wonder if that will end up being a weird generational sentiment, which younger more modern audiences are unlikely to feel/experience given the way the industry has developed, etc.

My first eternal toon was a err .. ice sorc I think. It's been ages since I used her. I still haven't convinced myself I'm getting the expac yet, I was sold on it less than a month ago until I found other stuff to play
Just 2 of you though, so maybe I won't fomo into it just yet :-)

To be honest if I hadn't been sucked back into it in August I'd probably have skipped the expansion until next year. But I got all excited and preordered it. Remembered at the last minute that it came out today and made myself late to work.  |

I've spent so many hours in D4 since I last played the campaign it feels kind of weird (also good) to be playing a story again with long cut scenes. Blizzard really are damn good at cut scenes, reminds me of Bungie and Destiny when it was good, even though the plot is likewise mostly forgettable guff.
Make sure you get your new character looking nice in the hair makeup and wardrobe department before you start it. I don't remember me featuring so much in the original campaign cutscenes?

I’m just on the final stages of the quest to unlock it and finally got to Torment 1 (but am still melting all enemies).
It’s not going to be Destiny level of PVE content but looks like it could be fun!

Wait are you on pc? I'm on PS5 - I know they have cross play, but can you team up? Also for at least one of the dungeons you might need 3 people. It might be doable with two, but you'd have to be quick.

I’m on Xbox and PC but mainly play console.
Just did it with randoms. It was like pulling teeth at times but got through all three wings in maybe two hours or so. Enjoyable.
It’s no Vault of Glass but it was nice to have things changed up a bit.

Yeah I enjoyed it when I did it, although I was completely lost on some of the mechanics. There was nothing in there that could physically hurt me, only the timer / boss one shot stuff. Got there in the end - I think my team of randomers tolerated my stupidity because I could face roll everything.

I wanted a change from survival horror so before I get properly into AW2 again I bought the expansion for this. Really enjoying it so far. Been a while since i played properly. I’d be up for co op stuff at any point.

Sweet Jesus! The step up to Torment 2 has finally exposed my comically low armour (around 1000 Armour with HP and AP both in the 4000-5000 range). *gulp*

I'm plugging away at this, somewhere between T3 & 4. Can play in T4 but will just randomly go from 100 to 0 HP now and again. I think once I'm ancestral in all the slots I'm effectively done for the season, got no plans to grind out for mythics, or get much north of paragon 200. Had to laugh when I saw the xp curve to 300, 200 isn't even 10% of the way.
