Following on from my previous comment (not really a spoiler, but I'll tag it as such to be on the safe side): I went looking for an option to delay/turn off Atreus hint line after the first time he told me what to do before I’d even turned the camera around. I was surprised I didn’t find it, it’s so prevalent. There is a puzzle timing option under accessibility.

It might just slow down the timing for completing a puzzle tho. More testing is required. Shame I don't have the time 😕

It's odd, I had Atreus and "heid" giving me clues quickly to start with but as I have been progressing, they both seemed to have shut up. Which is good until you actually need a pointer

Yeah Google seems to be torn on what it actually does.

Got stuck in yesterday and played 6 hours, 21% through the first realm you go to. It's stunning, love the chatter between the three, and the combat is lovely and punchy.
I had to change the settings for the compass though as it was breaking the immersion for me.

So what difficulty setting is good to use for this? Am about to start it but wondering what difficulty setting to go with.

Give me Balance has been bang on for me so far. Had my arse handed to me a few times and got through boss fights by the skin of my teeth more than once.
Full disclosure: I'm shit at games like this so that may be why. It does seem more unforgiving to me than the first though.

Enjoying this well enough so far but my primary feeling about it is that much like the predecessor it'd be better if it didn't have the over the shoulder camera in combat Hmmm, I think the game is made better with the over shoulder camera, the combat feels way more personal with it. I always felt more disconnected from the action with camera of the old games. I dunno, there's so much off screen stuff this time around it really doesn't feel like it.
They could at least let you bring the FoV out a bit.

You do seem to get jumped a lot more by enemies that spawn behind you. Its probably what's making it feel harder.

I put 180 degree turn on swipe down on touch pad. Works well when I actually remember to use it.

I find the whole Greek/Norse gods but it’s HBO now a bit silly to be honest. Finding the ‘prestiginess’ of it all a bit jarring. Game is good.

I’m sticking with Give Me Balance. I’m already spending a lot of the time with low health, coated liberally in poison. I’m not complaining, but it’s taking time to adjust to the gameplay. I’m getting bashed around a lot, but then I’m not really using all the tools available to me, still trying to play it like a souls game. When it clicks it’s really satisfying.
Also, I turned the compass off.

Yeah, Give Me Balance for me too. I feel a bit embarrassed to be dying to standard mobs quite often, certainly more than I remember in the last one. Kratos's tiny health bar is the issue. That and the fact I'm rubbish. Really enjoying it, but I'm playing just an hour or two per day. I'm sort of hoping it will last me past the Xmas holidays.
(See you in a week when I finish it)

Not sure this is actually for me. I am enjoying but the constant puzzles are becoming boring. I have been stuck on a feckin water puzzle (in the Mines) for ages, why so many feckin puzzles, I can't move more than a few feet and oh another one. I really have so little patience for things like this,I could and no doubt will look up a solution, but this is when I lose interest. It stops being fun and when know what you should do when it stops being fun... Edit, did it and it was feckin awful. I like Tyr at least 😉

Tbh after that you won't have many puzzles for a while other than a few axe throws which aren't nearly as complicated.

There is always a YouTube video if you are lost. Edit : You may not like the puzzles but for some folk, solving a puzzle is as satisfying as a headshot. I like both.

If anyone doesn't like the puzzles or exploring in the menu you can set it so that r3 looks at what ever the next thing is you need to do. Or you can also have it so it just hints you quickly.

I'm loving it.
Apparently, I've played 8 hours but it seems like a lot more.

Spoiler for about eight hours in, depending upon how good you are and how much exploring you've done: I really enjoyed the part in which you play as Atreus. Like the Ellie section from The Last of Us, it made for an excellent change of pace.

Like the Ellie section from The Last of Us, it made for an excellent change of pace. His beat down move is super overpowered, it’s great. Hoping that’s not just a one off sequence. Don’t think so given the leveling and relics for his mode

Its probably a disservice to say there are two games worth of story beats in this. It could almost have been a trilogy in itself if they wanted it to be. Now around 25ish hours in and it continues to drop big moments.
