Dark souls 1 with those ps5 demons souls remake visuals would be incredible. Me and the boy were saying the same thing just the other day. It would be incredible. The demons remake still looks better than nearly everything else on the ps5. |

I’d say pretty much every area of bb is more creepy than those dark souls areas. I liked tomb of the giants though in dark souls 1. Very stressful. Yeah bb has some excellent locations. Dark souls also seems to have a slight sadness to it, almost melancholy in places though aswell. That adds too. Dark Souls, especially the first, has pathos in spades and can certainly be unsettling at times. There are some spooky/creepy bits and certainly existential horror in there, but I don't think they're particularly scary games.
Both Bloodborne and Dark Souls have that sense of ambivalence where you're not sure what the hell is going on and whether you're doing good things or a bad things. You're killing monsters but the monsters are sad, and the people calling you hero aren't exactly good. Then at the end you're still not sure if you're a hero or a villain, or if you even made any real difference at all. I love that about them.

Yeah exactly. In that link I posted a few posts up earlier today, it touches on that as well. I particularly liked the fact that while elden rings is set in recent ruin, dark souls has been ruined for far longer, and you can tangibly feel that you're in a place that has been in some kind of purgatory setting for a unreal amount of time. |

If you’ve got the master key, you can use the back door entrance to Blightown and farm the fatties for the large club not far into it. They’re a bit of a handful if you don’t get a backstab or aggro too many at once though.

Presume Junior means it's too much of a faff and quad is too weak to do a run past gargoyles and quelaag then into Sens for the Gold Serpent Ring.
With quad's luck to be fair he could have ten of the things, one on each finger, and it still wouldn't result in the drop he was after.

Guess JonFE beat the game in quite a shitty way then ) Actually, I used the Drake sword for about half the game (along with the Lightning spear, the Pyro glove and the Grass Crest shield) and switched to a Black Knight Greatsword for the second half, but your point still stands  |

It's not bad if you've already got a weapon ready to use later on, but I don't like the moveset (no thrust apart from the daft two handed r2 which knackers the weapon anyway).
It does save on titanite mats though as I'm just waiting for the club to drop and then I can instantly get it to 5, do depths for ember and then straight to 10 with a chunk. That'll see me through the middle stages.
I should really get capra out the way too I guess.

Can't remember if this was a thing, but could I drop you the ring to slightly weigh things in your favour? Or if I have the large club could I drop you that? Feel like it's only to speed up farming so that's fair game 🤔

Back in the EG forum days, a user by the name of Elathron dropped a ton of weapons, armour and materials for me, which combined with the bottomless box glitch powered my characters for years. I still have an x360 unpatched installation for this very reason (not sure if the console still works)... |
