Ha. Read that earlier!! I want it but can’t have it! Wondering the quickest/ cheapest route to get a suitable PC… Almost two months late to this conversation, but Steamdeck? Not sure how easy it is to use mods, but it can definitely be done. |

Maybe Furysword too if you’ve got that far, it hits fast with little stamina drain Needs a +10 weapon to ascend, so it's a nono. |

Even the fucking Darkwraiths are hard-ish to kill with only +5 weapons. Basically have to backstab them, otherwise they'll just shrug it off. And even backstabbing does only like a fifth of their max HP.
I'm leveling a full +10 set of steel armor now. Hopefully with this and 99 black firebombs, I'll be able to win against the four kings. If not, I'll probably have to give up on this low level invader idea.

Remastered is the version with the weapon level matchmaking that limits me so much. In PPtD edition I just went at them in full Havel's with a +15 Claymore two handed.
Oh, and I'm PC masterrace.
But don't worry, I want to earn my right to invade noobs. I would feel lame if someone else killed them for me.

Rekt some players with cracked red eye orbs. It sucks a bit that it tends to summon you right before they go through the fog gate, abandoning the invasion and wasting one of them orbs.

Terrorizing the noobs is going quite well. Experienced players sometimes wreck me on their own, but more often they summon white phantoms or are already playing with friends. Then it usually doesn't go so well, although I had some luck with gold pine resins, green blossoms, wolf ring, narrow corridors and just 2h powering through their shields.
To be somewhat more fair I don't heal myself, unless they have the numbers or if they are well equipped already (some dude with black knight halberd removed half of my lifebar with 1 hit). In general I play very unfair, though, using NPCs to my advantage and hitting them with poisoned throwing knives when they engage them or try to heal. Sometimes I also just poison them and then wait until they die. The goal is terror, after all.
It's funny how you can often tell from the name if they are a new player. If they have a gamer name, they usually know what they are doing, but if they are called Juan or Marco, then they often trudge along in the heaviest stuff they found and stand around confused by the dark hand distortion effect.
Also, it's remarkable how many new players die against the channeler-buffed hollows at the upper level of the church. Sometimes they don't even see me before they die. But I guess I was like this as well when I first played the game.
Had some really cool duels, but I also have to admit that I got my ass handed to me multiple times by clearly better players with shittier gear than I have. And I have been counter-invaded by blue phantoms at least once, who then promptly proceeded to wreck me. Oh and of course I died multiple times due to lag. One dude was clearly from Asia or something, his position only updated like 1-2 times per second.
It's really cool how active the game still is, never have to wait 2 minutes for the next invasion.

I'm playing like a complete bastard, yes, but that's a longsword. I like the 1h stab of longsword, and it's not doing that much less damage compared to BS, with my piddly 13/13 STR/DEX. I might not even be able to use BS with these stats, or only two handed, maybe.

It's probably not surprising, but there is a large number of players called different variations of "Guts". I've killed a guts, a Guts and a GUTS today.
Also, I've invaded Undead Burg before the Taurus demon a bit. Felt quite cheap, to be honest. But it's also where I got my ass handed to me twice, once by a female miracle aoe explosion caster wearing painted guardian attire and crown of dusk, and once by a naked dude with gravelord sword. They both took more than half of my hp with a single hit.

Yeah at this point it's font or be fonted. I last played a couple years back and the invaders were either ganking or just messing about and let me go on my way when they realised I wasn't interested/trying to make progress

I'm just sad it's not possible to take trophies. I want to wear an ear necklace and/or belt.
Actually, that would be a cool mechanic, to be able to visually display how many you killed in a row. Then they would shit their pants even more. And be even happier when they prevailed. Would also make it more interesting for the invader, to try to keep their streak.

Got owned pretty hard by somebody called assmaster yesterday. They were just standing in a corner in Havel's, but Lautrec and Solaire that they had summoned were wrecking me. One hit of Lautrec removed 80% of my health bar.
Second time I invaded I managed to make the phantoms jump down and so I was able to approach them, but I was quickly gunned down by a salvo of dark beads.
My theory is they played a different low level char that I invaded previously and decided to get their revenge this way.
