Sounds like two very bad decisions that could easily be changed, though.

I haven’t tried it but I think you have to do operations online to get the unlocks etc.

Twice in a row yesterday right at the end of missions my team mates fully died so I had to survive the 60 second timer, luckily I’m bulwark so I just ran, rolled and blocked for the time otherwise 40 minutes wasted.

That was on the second difficulty, which doesn’t even reward you with purple drops that are required to unlock all the cool/decent/powerful weapons. So to get the good shit you and your randoms need to be all good. I don’t like that as it isolates players who aren’t as good or players like me who really don’t have the patience to fail at the end of a mission because of a little mistake or some low level random.

You CAN do the Operations missions solo, but you'll need to disconnect your machine from the internet and play offline. The problem is if you get downed even once you'll fail the mission and the bots really aren't that bright, sadly. You also get bugger all rewards and XP for doing this.

I've given up on the Operations mode for now. On several occasions the missions have been screwed by someone going permanently afk, or charging on ahead and getting absolutely murdered time and time again, or leaving during the finale and getting everyone else wiped, etc. It's generally just been a huge waste of time.

I'd be open to trying a few missions with a squad of forumites, though! PvE can be cross-played between console and PC, so everyone should be able to get some games in

But I'm not allowed to talk to strangers.

2 and 3 both got enhanced for the One X so actually hold up pretty well these days and don’t necessarily need remastering.

Dune and Judge Dredd and arguably Lord of the Rings owe Games Workshop so much.

Second operation done (weirdly looks like the 6th in the menu). Expect I’ll do them all on minima threat and then never touch the mode again. As mentioned just too long for a bite sized piece of replayable gameplay unfortunately!

It’s not that complicated, but a passing knowledge of 40K and ideally the story of the first will help.

Took down the Promethium Refinery today with I think one player and one bot. The player took a sniper, I was Vanguard and the the bot was Bladeguard.

Was good fun! The other player kept legging it to the end of the map, but apart from that it didn’t outstay its welcome for me and was a reasonable difficulty. I was the only player downed and any revived came from the bot.

There seems to be a bit of a rubbish grind ahead to unlock lots of cosmetic nonsense that I don’t look forward to.
