Now we have a Bloodborne thread.
I mean, we don't NEED it. Lets have one anyway.

Seems as good a place as any without creating a Bloodborne thread. First Person BloodborneAnal exam the giant pigs up close! Definitely needs a VR release. The disembodied hands look really weird but I'd love to give this a go. Reckon it would up the difficulty a fair bit.

Still no Sekiro thread - proof it’s the worst one!?
Surprised there’s never been more BB content after the DLC or a sequel. It’s a really strong IP to just leave

Every time I fire it up I wish for more. I fucking love it. I'm still holding out hope there will be a sequel one day.

I slightly regret platting it, because I haven't put it on since. Sort of feels like there isn't a lot else I can do, although maybe trying to get some DLC weapons really early on could draw me back to it. I don't think I used the Boomhammer or Bloodletter in a build yet

I’ve not used the DLC weapons much at all. On vanilla I only ever used the Saw Cleaver though with a little Kirkhammer
Both just too good

The Whirlygig, Bowblade and Moonlight Greatsword are all brilliant fun.

I've only got 2 platinum trophies for anything and, despite being games I loved at the time, my desire to go back to them was precisely zero. Didn't even bother with the sequels. I think it's knowing you done absolutely everything and the game has nothing left to show you. Glad Nintendo still don't bother with trophies actually

The beast cutter is great and you can get that as soon as the DLC is available if you just run past everything early on to grab it

Is that the chunky sword/whip combo? Never tried that either.

Similarly to the beastcutter, I can't recommend the Saif enough. It's fast as hell in one mode and amazing for crowd control in the other.

Rodderz I ignored it. Totally didn't bother me. I'm not crying. Dusty. So much dust in here.

I want to love it but I'm just absolutely shit at it. I'm not terrible with Dark Souls, Seikieieieiro, et al, but Bloodborne there's something fundamental I just can't grasp.
The boardgame is great though, I'll just play that.

If it makes you feel any better/worse about the price, the core retail game is practically a demo and you really need multiple expansions to make it shine.

I'm that one PS4 owner that has never played Bloodborne (let alone a Souls game). I watched videos but have never understood the appeal.
What makes it so good? Maybe I should pick it up before the PSN sale ends.

Am I the second PS4 owner that's never played it then ?
DS3 (gave up at final boss) was hectic enough, Bloodborne infused as it was. I've always looked at BB as if it'll just be an exercise in frustration with my slowing reflexes.

I'm that one PS4 owner that has never played Bloodborne (let alone a Souls game). I watched videos but have never understood the appeal. What makes it so good? Maybe I should pick it up before the PSN sale ends. They're just good action games with a real sense of exploration and discovery. They're quite challenging but I don't think their notoriety for difficulty is warrented. There's no fail state or game over. You just get put back to the last bonfire (checkpoint essentially) you used and are free to repeat sections until you get it. Bosses usually have runs you can make between the closest bonfires and the boss fight avoiding enemies so you can just keep practicing until you beat them. The main point of difficulty is that enemies do a ton of damage so you do have to learn their attack patterns.
They're games you have to get invested in and take the time to learn and master, which a lot of people find really satisfying. By the end of your first playthrough, you'll have learned a lot and developed a lot of confidence that wasn't there at the start. Repeat playthrough are much, much easier. The knowledge just stays with you. Good games. Recommend Bloodborne as a starting place as it has the most unique identity of all their games (and everyone loves a bit of Lovecraft)

It depends. Bloodborne has a steep difficulty curve like all soulsborne games, but the world is like nothing else. Pure gothic horror giving way to cosmic horror. In fact it's easily a horror game as much as an action rpg. If you can make it past Central Yharnam then it will get it's hooks in you, but that first area doesn't go easy on you.

Yeah the start of Bloodborne is a very tough gauntlet of weak enemies which is meant to teach you that groups of two or three is manageable
Groups of ten is not though - at least at that low level
