Demon's was PS3 and remastered for PS5? So maybe Bloodborne for PS6 makes sense? Maybe they like the idea of remasters being far enough in thefuture, that they feel like real graphical upgrades?
I dunno. Just do it already dammit 🙁

Rumblings of a Bloodborne+The Old Hunters complete edition book by FuturePress (essentially combining the two guides into one) opening preorders tomorrow... Saw that announced on Twitter yesterday. The intention is to combine into one book so it flows like it’s always been a single book Goes on to say that as there are some topics that are covered in both they’ll eliminate some of the duplication If you’re going to make that much effort to combine the books you’d expect it to be alongside a game to drive sales

I don't know if it's because I've drifted away from souls type games but Bloodborne doesn't feel like it needs a remake at all. The art direction and armosphere are great as they are. A performance patch is all it needs (and it doesn't really need that- it'd just be nice)
I don't see what a full remake would add. It's not a particularly big game and doesn't really have the variety of Dark Souls, so I feel like I've seen everything it has by now. Remaking games just because they're popular is a bit redundant and weird. Nothing about the state of video games has changed that would make a difference to the game

Agreed, I don't think a remake would be necessary. The look and art direction is perfect as it is and I could only see a remake diminishing that. A remaster, with 60fps and maybe some upscaled textures (and a PC release) would be very welcome though.

Although I'm usually of the "Remakes, yay!" persuasion, this is one instance in which I agree that it's unnecessary.
Bloodborne was a native PS4 game, so anyone with a PS4/5 can play it - there's no argument to be made around accessibility (unlike, say, Dead Space, which was stuck on PS3 and couldn't be played on newer hardware via backwards compatibility).
There also isn't an argument in favour of updating its mechanics, as it still plays very similarly to From's latest work (unlike, say, Resident Evil 2 and 3, which jettisoned fixed cameras and tank controls in favour of a more modern approach).
Plus it still looks amazing.
A 60FPS patch would be nice, but I don't think even that is *necessary* - sure, it stutters a bit in certain areas (even when playing on PS5), but there's nothing that's as bad as OG Blighttown.

I think a remaster would be very welcome to give a bit of spit and polish to the frame rate and bump resolution. Adding some QOL stuff wouldn't go amiss like changing how emotes work so you don't accidentally do one when in middle of a fight. Moving jump to stick click like DS3 as well as I think it's still double tapping run on BB?
Improved loading on PS5 API wouldn't hurt either.

I'd say the danger in remaking BB would be to change the atmosphere of the game. Demon's Soul remake, for all the great things it brought, doesn't have the same feeling of dread and despair the original had; it's brightly lit, colourful and clean - in the original you could almost smell the mould building up around the tower of Latria.
In that sense, I'd pretty much prefer if they could release a 60fps patch and just improve the loading times...

Completely disagree with the demon's souls remake comment. It's grim and grimy. I'm struggling to see how you could call it clean. I think some people didn't like the visual do over because you can actually see stuff without it being a blurry, stuttery mess. The atmosphere in the remake was palpable.

Onto that point BB needs a performance and resolution patch plus the frame pacing being patched. There's sublime art direction in there but it needs someone to actually be technically competent.

Didn't the Demon's Souls remake have a bunch of graphical options from which you could pick, if you didn't like the updated visual style? I'm pretty sure I chose the OG aesthetics and stuck with them through both my playthroughs.

It was more of a screen filter effect.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking of.
I never played the original DeS, but the filter I picked when playing the remake felt pretty grimy (in a good way!) to me.

There's no way they're not going to remaster Bloodborne at some point. Gotta keep finding a way to sell people games that they already own and have played through umpteen times before.
"Bloodborne Remaster: same great game - now 25% more expensive"
(And to be clear: it would absolutely be a day one buy for me)

To be fair as much as I’d love a remaster, I find I get used to the old 30fps fairly quick.
So baffling we don’t have one though. Mental.

Been seeing a lot of those pop up on my Google news feed, but all from places that sound quite click baity. Not really paid much attention to them.
I'm not even sure if I would particularly want a remaster. Even less so a remake. Just a patch to sort out frame timings/rates and maybe a bump in resolution is all it needs (a PC release would be nice too).
Not that I wouldn't be there day one if either a remaster or remake happened of course...

At this point if you don't hear it from the usual places then it's bullshit.

We had some great brief times with that, together with the Quaddy and his mishaps on high altitudes and lifts.

I still chuckle when I recall our sequential deaths in Hemwick. Never managed loads of co-op sessions but the ones we had were memorable.

Gaming as a hobby is still looked down on, I'm sure, by some many. You could argue that there are better uses of your time. Yet regardless, there are the odd good memories tied in with gaming, these games in particular. Although thinking back I am scarred slightly by the passage of time. What's nuts is I recall finishing Dark Souls 1 and later that evening the boy was a bit upset about something so I took him out of his cot and brought him into the living room, sitting there with him on the couch. He fell asleep on my chest and - kind of trapped there - I ended up asking the wife to pass me the xbox controller and - with the sound off - proceeded to reroll a new DS character straight away. With this little tiny baby asleep on me.
We co-opped Dark Souls together again the other week on holiday with our Switches. He knows the game even better than I do now and kills all the invaders for me.
14 years since he lay asleep on me.
Damn man. It kind of hits you sometimes.
There I go being morbid again. I'm not. It's just funny the things that spring in to your head.
