I've still got a bb video with wunty, addyb and myself. It's absolutely hilarious.
Wunty gets smacked off a cliff first while I'm struggling with a lift. Then addyb goes next. At this point, I've heroically made it out the lift and rush to help, only to see I'm too late.
So I set about dealing some vengeance and promptly get flung into an abyss.
Great days.
There's another one with just me and addy I think - thats the one where I get killed by a lift. No monsters even present.

Gaming as a hobby is still looked down on, I'm sure, by some many. You could argue that there are better uses of your time. Yet regardless, there are the odd good memories tied in with gaming, these games in particular. Although thinking back I am scarred slightly by the passage of time. What's nuts is I recall finishing Dark Souls 1 and later that evening the boy was a bit upset about something so I took him out of his cot and brought him into the living room, sitting there with him on the couch. He fell asleep on my chest and - kind of trapped there - I ended up asking the wife to pass me the xbox controller and - with the sound off - proceeded to reroll a new DS character straight away. With this little tiny baby asleep on me. We co-opped Dark Souls together again the other week on holiday with our Switches. He knows the game even better than I do now and kills all the invaders for me. 14 years since he lay asleep on me. Damn man. It kind of hits you sometimes. There I go being morbid again. I'm not. It's just funny the things that spring in to your head. /jumpers for goalposts That's an awesome memory in my book!

Yes, you got crushed by a lift. I'm sure it was one that leads to Lady Maria.

Dark Souls is also, I may add, the reason I've been farting about in here for so long (and EG). Regularly asking for help in the Dark Souls thread got me used to visiting and posting and just using this place over time as an outlet for both serious and trivial bants, which in itself has kept me sane (or less insane) over the years. So there you go. Completely pointless to this discussion or any discussion but Bloodborne and the age thereof just got me thinking.

Same here, the Dark Souls thread on EG forum was a delightful way of getting help, venting, being inspired and persevering, the very essence of a gaming community if I ever saw one!!! It certainly is the one thread I miss not being online anymore...

Ach. Age is just another boss to overcome. Or something.

Put me a lantern outside each boss room and don’t make healing a consumable item and it’s the perfect soulsborne game.
Currently died 4 times on the shadows trio boss and it’s more annoying to have to catch two lifts and loads of running than just fighting them.

Just finished the dlc again and was thinking how hard each boss is.
How do you lot rank each fight in terms of difficulty?? This is based on if I’m solo vs the boss and first play through not ng+ etc.
S-tier: Orphan
A-tier: Shadows of Yharnam, amygdala, Lawrence, the cainhurst blood knight at the end of crows quest line, Maria, ludwig
B-tier: Blood-Starved Beast, martyr logarius, Gherman, Ebrietas
C-tier: Cleric beast, Rom, vicar Amelia, Dark beast Paarl, Gascogne
D-tier: Moon Presence, Celestial Emissary, micolash, wet nurse
easy tier: Witches of Hemwick, The One Reborn.
Might have missed a few.

I personally would put Martyr Logarius up to A or S tier. I hate that prick.
Now... What if you included Chalice Dungeon bosses (and dungeon versions of main bosses).
S Tier: Defiled Amygdala A Tier: Bloodletting Beast, Defiled Watchdog, Abhorrent Beast, Brainsucker (because the little prick can swallow about 15 insight before the fight is over if you're not careful) B Tier: Queen Yharnham, Pthumerian Descendent, Pthumerian Elder, Loran Darkbeast, Ebrietas C Tier: Keeper of the Old Lords, Beast Possessed Soul, Blood Starved Beast D Tier: Merciless Watchers, Maneater Boar, Forgotten Madman, Easy: Celestial Emissary, Loran Silverbeast
Special "You're a fucking twat" mention: Rom the Christmas Sausage

Martyr first phase just fire paper spam r1 and he is staggered for most of it. Phase 2 just parry every attack. Without this knowledge yes he is A and maybe S tier. Plus a boring and annoying boss run back.

You should do the dungeons, if only to get to experience the Queen Yharnham fight. It's cool.

Yeah it's been a while but after looking it up, this rings a bell as to the order:
Pthumeru Chalice Central Pthumeru Lower Pthumeru - Make sure you get the Workshop Haze Extractor from Layer 2. There are 4 layers in this chalice. Ailing Loran Defiled Chalice Lower Loran and Great Isz - Order doesn't matter. Pthumeru Ihyll

Found the dungeons really dull after having done a few. So, not encountered many of those bosses. It is the one of the few areas of the game that I found isn't perfect and I would be looking for a sequel to improve.
As for main game bosses, I would agree with most of those. Blood Starved Beast might deserve to be pushed up a group. Not so much as he is overly difficult and there are methods of making him much easier, but it does feel like a moment where the game escalates when you are first playing and a difficulty spike.

Ignore the root chalices as they are for making your own random dungeons. All of the above are set dungeons. I went through the guidebook when I needed help. The Defiled one is particularly nasty (hence Defiled Watchdog and Defiled Amygdala are horrid, they have massive healthpools and can pretty much one shot you due to you having half health).

See I'm weird in that I love the dungeons. I've spent a stupid amount of time down there. I don't even play the main game any more. There's some wonderfully horrible enemies and bosses in there.

Because I don't think he (intentionally) parried once the whole game (Watchdog of the Old Lords would probably be in its own tier for him in that list btw, considering no other boss stonewalled him to the point of farming and summoning)

I’m with vandaley on this. Although I only did maybe 3 set ones and a couple of randoms and versus the main game they are a bit bland and dull. The main game is beautiful and varied. I found the dungeon environment mostly dull to play around in. Obviously it looks like I haven’t tried the last 4-5 though so I can’t be sure.
To be fair the dungeons are probably better than most full games but when I’m playing blood borne I want to spend my time outside of dungeons.

Bloodborne is the only From game where I've bothered trying to parry for more than a few seconds (well, that and Sekiro). It is a lot easier to do and much safer when you can do it from distance. Really satisfying to achieve, particularly against bosses.
Don't think I really did it against that boss though, so might be why I also struggle against him.

The Chalice Dungeons are kept above "bad" tier by that one "cummmfpk" farming seed alone, even if you dislike everything else about them they have that going for them

Off the top of my head all these bosses are “easy” to consistently parry. Orphan, the cainhurst blood knight at the end of crows quest line, Maria, martyr logarius, Gherman, Gascogne. Maria 1st phase is made trivial, Gascognes 1st, orphan 1st, martyr 2nd, all of Gherman. My first ever play through was sohard because I didn’t get the party mechanics and didn’t know you hard to charge r2 to trigger visceral attacks! It was painful.
