I was about to ask if you had evacuate. That makes world 4 much easier. Well, if you're farming, that is. Absolutely - I balked at the 20 grand price but then realised it would be a sound choice. Gonna do some nice relaxing farming now for an hour or two. |

Earned the plat last night, finally. Wonderful game and really pleased that they changed the trophies from the PS3 original as I never managed that plat.
Worst one was farming for a gold coin, always hate RNG.

And yet here I am on my second playthrough and with about 5 or 6 trophies to go (some involving a fair bit of work though, and I haven't really planned my playthroughs as such). I'm just enjoying the damn game so much I can see myself playing through a few more times. |

Yeah, I've been working on understanding world tendency this time but haven't yet looked into character tendency...is this what triggers / activates her? (not sure if we should be using spoiler tags, the game is over ten years old...)

You need both pure white and pure black character tendency to get rings and pure black world for one more ring - so it's the ring one that will need some planning! But can all be done in NG.

Finally got the platinum - and I think, much as I adore the game, going for it diminished the overall experience for me. I don't really want to touch it again right now. There's just too much grind around the rings, and character / world tendency. It's all about following a walkthrough, really, which I don't mind to some extent but was a bit much here. Despite all this - brilliant, brilliant game. Now - on to Returnal! |

If it’s the same as the PS3 you collect souls and then talk to the Maiden in Black
I don’t think you can level until the first level is done though

Try not to use “Boss” souls as they can be used for other things later
Boss souls are the named ones you get from beating bosses

World Tendancy.... I knew something had put me off it on PS3. Hadn't a fucking clue what was going on. Mind you, didn't in Bloodborne when people started getting murdered.

Finally picked this up in the sale over the weekend. How do I go about levelling up? Quadfather posted some tips on the other forum but I can't seem to find the thread for it now I have the game! 🙄 You've got to beat the boss of level 1:1 first, called Phalanx. Once he's done (tip, use fire if you can), go back to the Nexus immediately (don't even push on after the boss is killed or you risk losing a few things), and speak to the maiden in black and it'll kick off the levelling procedure. And it sounds really stupid, but you're better off killing yourself in the Nexus after you've leveled up. When you kill a boss, you'll be transformed into human form. However, and this is a very big thing, being in human form out in the wild, shall we say, brings its own challenges. Basically, if you die in human form in a main level, the world tendency will shift to black a bit. Monsters will be harder, but drop rate will be increased. But the more black the world becomes, the harder it is. And there are things that change in both black world tendency and white world tendency. Killing bosses makes the world whiter. Dying in human form makes the world darker. It's all a bit obtuse, and I'd highly recommend reading the world tendency on the wiki page to get your head round it. So each time I kill a boss, I whizz back to the Nexus, level up, store stuff, buy stuff and then go right to the top of the level and hurl myself off to my death. Then I pick up my souls where I jumped, and then go out and carry on in a level (the Nexus is the *only* area where dying in human form has no consequence). And yes, you have half health in soul form. But there's a ring in the first level (1-1) that helps with this. Don't leave 1-1 till you have 2 rings. Keep your eyes open when exploring it! And yes, don't consume boss souls for now till you know what they can later on be used for. And keep stones of ephemeral eyes and don't use them that much! |

I found 2 rings - Cling and Thief I think, got another from the storage guy.
Finding the Monumental was harder than the boss 😂 I can't of been paying attention..
I killed myself and levelled up to 10, I've gone Knight(as always)
Can I store the soul from slaying the Phalanx or just keep hold? There's something about that guy I just don't trust him 😁
