I believe it didn't make the PS5 version. Loved that dupe method, so tricksy but so reliable

Thanks!
Went back on since I defeated the Knight but wouldn't let me pass through the fog gate afterwards until I've defeated another demon. Tried a couple more worlds but seem to hard for my level and shit equipment at the moment. Give up after that as I was fucked from work so I'll try again later hopefully.
Slow progress but loving the game.

I found 2 rings - Cling and Thief I think, got another from the storage guy. Finding the Monumental was harder than the boss 😂 I can't of been paying attention.. I killed myself and levelled up to 10, I've gone Knight(as always) Can I store the soul from slaying the Phalanx or just keep hold? There's something about that guy I just don't trust him 😁 I'm just playing catch up with your progress. Good job on the rings - the thief ring is useful to reduce the aggro range of monsters - really helps in certain areas. Cling ring is hopefully obviously clear Haha, I probably should have mentioned the monumental. Also, pro-tip - if you go past the elemental, there's a sort of slightly hidden path at the end of it which goes down a few steps where there is an item. Did you find that? Cool, good levelling start by the sounds of it. Are you fast rolling, or do you sluggishly roll? The weight / endurance plays a big part here. If you take off all your armour, you'll fast roll. As you put your armour on piece by piece, when it goes over the next weight threshold, you'll notice your rolling gets slower and slower. Very very useful having fast roll speed. You can store the soul safely - I'd recommend it just in case you accidently neck it by mistake.

Tried a couple more worlds but seem to hard for my level and shit equipment at the moment. Give up after that as I was fucked from work so I'll try again later hopefully. Slow progress but loving the game. Yes, you need to beat an arch-demon to open that gate. I wouldn't worry about it for now. World 1 - you're pretty familiar with this world now I imagine, but you can't yet get to 1-3 or 1-4. World 2 - If you have a piercing weapon, you can make fairly short work of the miners. Also, in 2-1, a *lot* of upgrade materials will drop from the miners. There are some that are carrying a bag. Make a beeline for them, as they only spawn once, but the bag contains lots of lovely upgrade stones. That will help upgrade your shit equipment. World 3 - Erm. Good luck It's actually not that bad, but really watch out for the mind flayers. 3-1 is a bit of a maze but there's some decent items in there. World 4 - If you want to take on the skeletons, you're going to need a half decent weapon. Luckily, there is one in 4-1, not that far from the start which makes short work of them, called the Crescent Falchion. It's a magic damaged based sword, but I bet it'll still be good enough for you to take out the skeletons. The only tricky part is that it's guarded by a black skeleton, who are fuckers. You don't have to fight him, and can dodge around him to grab the weapon and then just leggit, but for fucks sake, don't let him hit you World 5 - Despair. I'll spoiler any of this if you want.

Slow progress but loving the game. World 5 - Despair. Great tips / summary. 5-1 is such a bugger when you first get there, with enemies popping up everywhere, poison / plague, instadeath falls and those big fuckers. Take any kind of poison resistance you can for the whole world. As for Latria (world 3) - one of my favourite sets of level in any game, with a couple of my favourite bosses from the game. Don't rush: it pays to take your time, explore and soak up the atmosphere.

You've not played it yet? Jeez man, you gotta get on that. And believe it or not, it's *better* than the OG. It's only some of the music that's different that irks me (i love the original music to the 5-3 boss battle) I got lucky with a PS5 - when it first launched, amazon only had the digital one only and if you directly searched for the disk based one, it didn't come up with anything. But I don't know whether the search was borked or not, but someone provided a direct link to it on amazon and I just managed to get one.

I'm installing it as we speak. I used Hotstock, it pings you as soon as stock hits shops. Rumours that John Lewis is getting some any day now. What to build, what to build...

Danno you lucky swine! quadfather does it ‘feel’ like the original? That special atmosphere must be so difficult to recreate. That desolate, mysterious, otherworldly sense of a real place where real shit went down is unsurpassed for me. I worry that the shiny nature of the PS5 would take some of that away

That desolate, mysterious, otherworldly sense of a real place where real shit went down is unsurpassed for me. I worry that the shiny nature of the PS5 would take some of that away It feels exactly the same to me. Exactly. the only real difference that some people have moaned about is the fact that there's grass growing through some of the brickwork and it "takes away some of the original bleakness" according to some. According to me, they're twats though, so ymmv

Ha ha what. People will complain about anything. The atmosphere is the same to me, and by fuck it's a beautiful game.

The people complaining about this don't like games. They like complaining.

I know. The world is full of bellends but there you go. I like the grass - it makes it look even more decayed and desolate, being taken over by nature.

retro74 I'm about to fight Phalanx and, as Quaddy says, it's every bit as bleak as the original, if not moreso. I'd be mighty surprised if they've messed up any of the other worlds. I'm dreading Tower of Latria

You're ok, but I'm still not 100% sure on the online average mechanic. I've been playing online, but then I'm not going for any specific tendency stuff at the moment, apart from things opening/changing on white/pure white, and I wander around in soulform 100%

Yeah, it's frustrating. The PS3 version even has the area in the original code. Probably unfinished obviously, but there was clearly an idea to do it at one point.
Be hilarious if they made it as DLC and all the monsters in it are 20 foot tall, whacking you in the air, skyrim style

Quaddy - cheers for the information once again! Not sure how you @ someone on here, can only see quote.
I'm slow rolling, I had the bastard sword equipped but I'm not keen on it when I'm swinging so I'm still using a long sword. Haven't really come across many weapons to be honest, a spear, an axe and a cutlets type sword I think which I had to use when my long sword was broke so I'm basically rocking default sword and shield 😁

I pre ordered one from Shopto originally which I ended up giving a friend the pre order as he wanted one for his kids for Xmas, I then bought one from a scalper from eBay paying over the odds when they were like rocking horse shit, then sold that to a work mate for a £50 loss after it was gathering dust. I then managed to knab 2 from Amazon a few weeks back followibg the PS5 stock check on Twitter you basically need to be lucky enough to have your phone in your hand when the tweet pings, I kept the digital one for myself and sold the physical one to a mate for the price I paid. I need help I know 😁 Keep trying you will get one 👍

Apparently, you can quote, but I can't remember now either.
Yeah, the bastard sword isn't brilliant in narrow corridors - longsword has a better moveset. Long sword is actually a decent weapon upgraded.
The spear is a good safety weapon too, and it packs a fair punch when upgraded.
You might like that crescent falchion. I know it's magic based, but it's a great starting weapon which will lead you to others.
Ah, ok, slow rolling. Well, few choices really -
Stay heavy and slow roll Find lighter armour Take bits of armour off Upgrade your endurance so you can increase the limit before the threshold hits
I always increase endurance anyway, as I like to have as much stamina as possible when fighting, regardless of armour, but it's all each to their own.
Have you tried taking all the armour off to see the difference in rolling? It's quite a difference.
