Thanks, I need to stop panicking and flailing around when I see them. The biggest enemies in this are not always the most dangerous. It's usually the fast little fuckers who can chip away at your health that will wear you down, or the bullet-hell twats.
The third area is an absolute lesson in this.

Can hardly wait :-D It is impressive how quickly you can improve, and feel you've done so - nearly nailed the second area in a handful of hours. I just haven't quite yet had the luck with my run to the boss in Asphodel. |

You can be quite aggressive against Megara most of the time. Just keep the dashes up. The moves to watch for are her AOE swipe, which she telegraphs pretty heavily and just needs a bit of distance, and her bullet-hell mode, which can fuck you over in seconds unless you get some distance and avoid/attack projectiles.

I'm gonna need a few more runs at 2 to get anywhere without my health going bye bye in every room.
What's everyone's favourite weapon? I'm finding it hard to part with the sword so far. Spear feels too limited and I'm not sure how good the bow will be in certain rooms. Haven't unlocked the shieldy looking thing for 5 keys yet though.

My fastest-successful run weapons are the bow and the fists. I'm probably worst with the rail.

I actually love the spear, especially if I get a decent upgrade to its special attack. Just spent two titan's blood on it. I think I'll give the fists a go next.

There's not a clear best/worst on auto-aim, but I would keep it on. It helps with the ranged weapons - bow and rail - when targetting fast-moving enemies.

Personally quite enjoying the spear, just got to the second boss with it and was doing ok. The extended range really helps to keep you out of trouble.

Just picked up on the PS5. Really enjoying this! Have made it to the 3rd section once (after about 20 runs..) but the ~30 minute runtime is ideal. Really enjoying the art style and the dialogue keeps the runs fresh. I'd probably say I've had the most luck with the shield so far.
Keep coming unstuck on the Hydra most of the time.

I remember I got my first clear with the shield - it's good fun, but some of the boss fights are harder due to the short range. Focus on dash attacks, and Athena's deflect special is handy.

Yeah all of my best runs I've had the deflect damage ability activated. I'm unsure if you get invincibility frames without it with the dash? I've got a nasty habit of dashing towards enemies from Returnal so I'm not sure if some of the damage I'm taking is from stupidity.
