I'm going to Printworks in December to see Noisia's last ever London show, part of their farewell tour. It promises to be spectacular.

Saw Yard Act in Cambridge last week, first gig for me since lockdown. Was great to be back and despite being sold out, wasn't too concerned about Covid. The band asked that everyone wore masks (some did) and that you had to show proof of a negative test to get in. The mask thing was kinda tricky when drinking a pint though... The gig got a pretty good write up in yesterday's Grauniad: www.theguardian.com/music/2021/oct/02/yard-act-portland-arms-cambridge-reviewGot Black Country, New Road coming up next month too, which I'm stupidly excited about.

Off to see the Fontaine’s dc tonight. Should be a good return to gigs 😊 How was Fontaine's DC mate? Would love to see them.. They were great, brilliant set list and the atmosphere was top notch. They only played for an hour though. Everybody was quite surprised when they finished.

Killers (rescheduled), Liam Gallagher at Knebworth, Chili Peppers lined up next year so far. I'm not in rush to get out to stuff in the meantime. Last act I saw pre-Covid was Ronnie Wood (fun but very ramshackle) and Metallica (quite safe these days but always deliver) shortly before that.
Respect for all of these acts but RHCP are 'my' thing out of all that. Kinda dreading LG to be honest and hoping it's not a full on lager lout crowd.

I just got tickets for Low at Manchester Cathedral and am stunned by the pricing. Firstly there seems to be £4 tacked onto the face ticket value and then there is... Including booking fee £4.06 per ticket 1 x Order Processing Fee £1.00 Fulfilment Fee £1.50 That is with See Tickets, but it seemed the same whoever I tried. Sheesh, I miss the days it was less than a tenner, turn up at the door etc. / is old

Saw Tim Minchin this week. He’s still got it. His serious songs are pretty terrible though. He’s a virtuoso musician, but he’s a much better comedian than proper pop star.
Also went to see Jay Rayner last week (does that count as a gig?), he said I was a show off.

Sleaford Mods in nov. Foals (2 yrs late- thanks covid!) in lahndahn next year. That's it thus far. Not sure how I'll cope in nov tbh. Getting more used to having more folk around now though! I know this is an ancient post, but is Mark Wrynn supporting?

It was great to be at a show again at long last.
He was on good form too.

Just got tickets for Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever next March...£16 plus a £1.50 booking fee. Blimey that's pricing from 20 years ago. Good Aussie lads who can still tour for cheap.
I need to find a few more to book between now and then. Bit gutted the Doves tour got cancelled I was reallly looking forward to that one. The date got bounced forward 2 or 3 times over the pandemic, had tickets for next Feb. Get well soon Jimi.

I've just won 500 quid in ticketmaster vouchers, tempted to just spunk it all on VIP RHCP or Foos with the missus but not massively into them.
Maybe a trickle of gigs is the better option, I kind of want to see what's planned for later next year, still feels a bit weird now with Covid still rampant.

Went to see the Manic Street Preachers at Piece Hall, Halifax, on Friday. Absolutely loved it, it was so great to be part of a live audience, singing as if our lives depended on it. Going to see them again on the 26th in Newcastle, and October 2nd in Manchester. Seeing the Manics at Wembley in December. Looking forward to it. Seen them quite a few times and they are also fantastic. Was meant to be seeing Ed Byrne in September, but it was postponed. Also need to reschedule seeing Hamilton, as I was supposed to be seeing it around about last May.

I really want to go see some live music... it's been so long since I did. But I don't think I'm willing to brave indoor shouty crowds yet. Maybe will have to wait til some outdoor event when it warms up again.

Got a suprise early birthday present, and went to see Fatboy Slim this weekend. Full of aged ravers and their teenage offspring. It was brilliant- great atmosphere, got to dance like a frog in a blender for the first time in ages.
Felt like absolute death for the next two days, even though I only had a couple of pints. So, yay birthdays, boo getting old(er).

Osees touring the UK this next week. Tickets still available for one of the best garage/psych rock bands around. I'm seeing them in Leeds on Thursday night, Oh Yeah! youtu.be/NzyhPAHQudAHave fun, I'm off to see them tomorrow! How can you not love a band with 2 drummers Saw them at End Of The Road in 2018 and it was a blinding set. Made better by having one of my mates kids there with us. His eldest was only 12 at the time and had never seen anything like it. There was a great pit down the front right from the off. It was a bit too raucous for him though, even if he was a big lad for his age - it wasn't violent but he could easily have gotten knocked over. As the set went on the pit grew till the point it was only a few rows in front of us at which point I was in, couldn't not get involved. After about 10 minutes I was shattered (not as fit as I once was!) and came back to the edge of it all for a breather. Caught my mate and his sons eyes and before we knew it I had my back to the stage, arms outstretched, shifting and flexing as this bubble of people behind me bounced away. A barrier had been formed and my mate and his son moshed away in their own little pit shielded from the mass of trampling legs but right in it. And I was just watching them as I bounced about. The sheer joy on both their faces is something I will never forget.

Osees tend to waste the fact that they have two drummers.
They are no Ants. Nor The Fall for that matter.
I'm seeing Snapped Ankles in Hebden tomorrow.

Yeah I’m not a massive fan, always liked them though. My mate got the tickets a couple of years ago. I’ve got to say they were fantastic live, really impressive band and a shed load of quality songs.

I took my 20 year old son ( who's at Leeds Uni) and he was pretty blown away by it. We were a down at the front on the edge of the mosh pit, ideal for this old man to get a bit involved 🤪 Have a good one tonight!!

Snapped Ankles tonight were awesome.
I was planning in standing at the back but arrived early and got a table at the side right at the stage so brilliant view and away from the crowd \0/
