I didn’t know masters of reality were still going.
I loved their first two albums at the time.

I wonder how Pitchshifter are these days. I saw them so many times back in the day and they always crushed it.
They just released their Peel Sessions from the early 90s.
Fuck I never knew the sounded like that originally!! I saw them at Ozzfest '98 and remember not liking the singer at that point.

Black Stone Cherry with Skillet and Ayron Jones in support up at Wembley Arena on Sat were excellent. For those who have seen BSC a couple of times they haven't (and won't ever I doubt) reinvented their wheels but when they are that good why would you? Their promoted new album Screaming At The Sky songs also were delivered powerfully and flawlessly live.
Skillet were also pretty great but the lead singers voice was clearly a bit battered from a long tour schedule in his lower ranges. Ayron Jones was admirably good but just not really for me by personal preference.
8.5/10 for the night (BSC 9/10) For BSC fans they are set to play Maid In Stone festival 2025 which is a really good and not overly expensive rock festival that we went to last year and loved! Worth a day ticket trip imo once that ticket type becomes available. The Georgia Thunderbolts are already announced on the same day who are solid southern rockers. I'm hoping Stone Broken might also play the Saturday as announced but not which day yet and they are terrific too! If you decide to go and want to direct msg me see you there for a pint

Ooh industrial era! They were pretty much exclusively playing www. onwards by the time I started seeing them lates 90s/early 00s Same here, I don't think Clayden can growl like that any more. They tend to get the vocalist from the supporting bands to do any kind of vocals for any song pre Infotainment. Should be a good gig though on Wednesday.

Last gig of the year tonight, off to see Fontaines D.C. in Plymouth Pavilions (pretty rubbish venue, but it's close to home) which I'm really looking forward to. They're supported by Sorry who are another band I really like; always good to get a double-hit of bands you like in one gig.

Well Pavilions was a lot better as a venue than I expected (it's been a long time since I've seen a 'proper' gig there), the sound was pretty good and Fontaines had a wicked stage set-up and lighting show.
Sorry were very good support, with a varied setlist and a few new tracks they've not released yet - very diverse mix of tracks and despite this they were well received.
This was my first time seeing Fontaines and I was not disappointed, they were full of energy and blazed through a 20 song setlist (including an old-school encore with about five minutes of waiting). As this was supporting the new album the majority of the songs were from Romance (not a bad thing) but they did find time to include classics from all three earlier albums which was very welcome. It's noticable now how their sound is very different from the Dogrel days, they're much more fleshed out these days, and the early songs did stand out a bit (but they were fucking great). Made me wish I'd seen them when they first came out, as I imagine those shows were something else.
