It became my main weapon after I got it, although I definitely couldn't use it against the last dlc boss nor Melania. They just move far too quick.

I don't know what proc means. I even looked it up once but I can't remember. Danno's always saying it- proc this, proc that Hitting an enemy with e.g. a bleed weapon builds up its invisible bleed bar. When it's full and the bleed effect happens, that's a bleed proc. Same for when an enemy is poisened after getting hit several times with a poisoned weapon, etc. It's not actually random but it's still often called proc. And making enemies like Greyoll or Fire Giant (who have huge bleed bars) bleed in a single hit is insane.

Programmed Random Occurrence Anything with a percentage chance that lands its intended effect. I'm going to be nitpicky, but this is the Internet, so where else will I do it That is what it means and people use it wrong. Bleed isn't a random occurrence. It has a fixed amount on each enemy type to trigger and a calculated amount is applied with every hit. Edit - as Rex says above .

Ah, but have you considered its usage as a verb (i.e "to proc") which means "to cause a special event to occur"? In this case, proccing bleed? en.m.wiktionary.org/wiki/procOr better yet, the fact that even when talking about the noun usage for "programmed random occurrence", proc is essentially used as a substitute to trigger, as illustrated in this comment From this thread (whose link can't be clicked for some reason)?: https://www.reddit.com/r/gaming/comments/11evu3c/what_the_hell_does_proc_mean/ (we're being extra pedantic today )

Doesn't really matter though does it. That's the definition of it but it's common use has obviously drifted. It's literally not the first term to get bastardised and it won't be the last.

Yup. All the time. In fact since I wrote that post only 8% of those words meant what they did when I typed it.

Very pretty and gay.
Gay as in happy and jolly, not homosexual*.
See what happens with word meanings changing?!?
*(I mean, you can do that too if you want. Far be it from me to stop you, it's a free country still)

As an aside, I wish 'googling' wasn't a thing and people said internet search or something else. Google are bastards and don't own the internet, or shouldn't

But I googled it.
That’s it. I’m not googling anything else for you. You can google your own queries. Google.

It's alright, everyone does it. DuckDuckGoing doesn't really roll off the tongue. Would be nice if people said it though

Besides. Why type out unnecessary words when I can type one. I googled it is more economical than “I opened up a new tab on my internet browsing application and performed a search for the query which you had, my liege.”

About 2 hrs to beat the final dlc boss. With mimic tear and literally just a pip of health left with no flasks. One of those bosses where it ends and you feel relieved, but not in a "That was a great boss" kind of way, but "Thank fuck that's over"

Thanks all. Sounds like such a boring way to defeat him though...I'll try and continue with my faith/dexterity build as that's carried me throughout so far. I'm not against respeccing if needs be though. If you're specced in Faith you could try just letting Taylew the Golem Smith solo him! No, seriously, with Revered Spirit Ashes as close to +10 as possible (and the summon itself upgraded of course), all you need to do is Heal From Afar whenever Taylew gets a bit too low and keep up some buffs on him (Blessing of the Erdtree, Golden Vow, Lord's Divine Fortification etc), and he can take out the boss entirely on his own... (not that you can't assist if necessary, obviously) Okay, this is the way...took a few attempts to get the hang of it and then got the bastard down to one hit left but he fucking killed me. So fucking annoyed. The subsequent four attempts I didn't get close again (but deep into second phase). I need another break, getting him down to one hit left is more annoying than not getting anywhere near. He is a motherfucker and he's going down, but not yet, I need some time to heal

Genuinely felt better and more satisfied beating Malenia and she can inflict scarlet rot and recovers health even if you block the attack!

Both felt pretty dang satisfying for me tbh Malenia because she somehow went down first try at like 05:30 in the morning (yes with Mimic but come on, it's Malenia, I was shaking in my slippers with glee when it happened) and this one because of a greedy almost mutual kill after he'd slaughtered most of my summons (I think [REDACTED] actually got the killshot as I was dying, very fittingly )
