Hunchback II could have been so much better with some polish.

It doesn't do anything new, but loads of games don't and they are still plenty good enough.

It’s not too polished. Try jumping on some rocks or get out of water where you’re not supposed to. That said, it gets much better, especially level design, once you have the bow . That said again, I just hit a possibly progress-halting bug. When I kill the shrine guardian boss in the lantern cave the game slows down to a crawl and nothing more happens as long as I’ve waited (15 minutes?). Tried that twice with the same effect. Oh, well.

Looks like there’s a workaround. Cool.

It's an extremely impressive looking and sounding game for a small studios first game. Some of the character movements are a bit clunky but other than that I'm pretty impressed.

Is it as impressive looking as R&C?

Nah doesn't have the same kind of scale or detail in the world going on. It's very pretty though. I'm digging the Ghibli style music too.

Souls is very strong in this one. It borrows from everything, but does it well and puts it together nicely.

It's by Malindy, so take it with a huge pinch of salt. She does have the biggest takes. My favourite was "game design is hard" to excuse a shit part of a game. Did amuse me that she got called out big time for this review. Seems like your typical youth on twitter which gets offended about something but doesn't do any proper research so they look fucking stupid.

Also feels good to criticise Eurogamer reviewers without fear of a mod potentially removing the critic. FUCK YOU.

The 5.1 mix is a bit weird if you're using speakers. A lot of stuff coming the the rears that you wouldn't expect.

Some of the bosses are right tricky bastards. Just beat the corrupted *redacted* and had to knock the difficulty down as he was beating the shit out of me.

One of those rare moments when the comments section doesn't make you want to poke your eyes out with a rusty fork.

Started on the hardest one that was unlocked Decks, first few bosses weren't a problem but this particular one was as he is fast and hits like a truck. More so in his second phase.

Yeah I nearly went with that one bit ended up just sticking it on the default. Dunno if it's the kind of game I want to be struggling to get through. Might knock it up if it gets too easy.

All the normal combat on that difficulty is fine but some of the bosses are quite tricky. I think the standard level is pretty well balanced for most people.

I needed at least 20 tries for this one on +1 diff. That’s when I wrote about Souls, even the tree looks like the old one from DS. The game just goes from str to str after that.

Yes mate, it probably doesn't help that I don't love the ps5 pad, it's great for features but I don't love it for aiming. I kept getting his shoulder with rot and his wiggle kept making me miss and rot is quite a precious resource for that fight.

Oh, what's your psn name? I don't think I have you in friends.
I played in 30 fps for a bit. Beyond the first 5 mins it's fine, even beat a boss in it. But aiming for weak spots was visibly harder.
I'm fine aiming with the pad, but I'm seriously fed up with the bow trigger effects.

Yes, but you don't need to shoot, L1 when you're fairly close does the same thing. Also, I'm not sure the game explains it, but if you jump and aim time slows down . That's sooo good for bugs, but useful basically all the time.

This worth buying? I like straightforward, gameplay focussed games with lush, peaceful, lovely open worlds or environments. Not too picky.

Though in that particular fight you can just use it once… It helps, but not a lot.

I just beat Stone Guardian and he was very difficult and got the glitch again... So now I have to beat him again and hope it doesn't happen. No biggie, only spent 1.5 hrs on him so far. Fucketty fuck.
