Such a shame that Persona 3 got stuck with the Portable version for its re-release. The story is still good but it lost so much of its charm on the PSP. I'd love to have seen the updates from P3P with P4's combat changes and control of other characters added to Persona 3 FES instead.

Still debating the Switch physical for P5 Royal for handheld only play (I have the PS4 version untouched...). I hear the resolution is a little lower than the screen but supposed to look pretty decent, but also concerned about audio compression as apparently everything is on cart...
A P2 duo remaster is my most wanted out of the classics (they can throw P1 onto it too if they want), P3 is secondary... Same with SMT1/2 (and potentially If)

Looking forward to playing P5R on the X later today, did the plat on the original on the PS4 but always thought the Royal version was a massive rip off for a bit of DLC. Major decision time, which waifu this time around?

It's a lot more than just a bit of DLC in fairness, but yeah would've been nice if there was some kind of upgrade path offered. Not surprising that there's no upgrade for PS4 to PS5 either.
I think I went with Ann in P5 and Makoto in P5R. Futuba just feels wrong somehow (well I mean it's all a bit noncey really...)

Can't decide if I want this or not. Last JRPG I played (in a long time) was SMTV and I didn't get very far, just got bored of it. Love P3 though, 4 was good in parts Isn't it on GamePass?
I'm probably gonna pass. 60fps and faster loading is nice, but the PS4 Pro version already did 4K. I've already double dipped on this game, no reason to triple dip.

I'm not completely sold on all the changes they made in Royal, it seems a lot easier than standard and some things seem a bit gimmicky. I'm playing Royal with English text / Japanese voices having played P5 entirely in Japanese and yikes, the translation really is poor in places. The game deserved better than this.

Moved to NZ for the day to play last night, started on merciless , did a bit of reading then switched to hard. Seems weird that merciless is easier than normal in many ways.

Yeah my first playthrough was on Hard mode but I had to switch to Merciless to get past one particular boss, then did it first time |

Shame it doesn't have cross save (well, apart from the GPU versions I guess)
Would've loved to have the ability to start in the sitting room, move up to the office if I want and then pick up where I left off on the switch on my commute. Will just have to settle for the first two.

I'm playing in handheld mode and it doesn't sound any worse to me than other games. Performance seems fine so far. I mean, there are obviously compromises made to get it running on Switch but none of them bother me, although I'm sure Digital Foundry will be along any second to point out all the flaws and get everybody riled up in the comments. I'm just happy that it's finally playable on a handheld system, like Persona games should be |
