Never played the original so thought I'd bite and grabbed a new copy on eBay for £17 and will nab this whenever that arrives.
As much as I'm against charging for next gen upgrades, £5 for a complete package with all the gubbins like this is a bloody good deal. Even £10 would've been acceptable, but it's nice to not have a 1:1 USD conversion for once.

It absolutely is. I was planning to buy it at full price as it's possibly my favourite game of the last generation, so this is an complete steal.

Loved this game, but none of the new additions make me want to revisit it.

I finished the original but didn't platinum it, and intended to go back to it. Because the PS5 upgrades unlock all the trophies you got on PS4, if I upgrade now I'll never go back and Plat the PS4 game. As a result I kinda want to finish that off first, then upgrade and play the new stuff, but it's been so long now that I can't remember how to play it and would benefit from just starting over.

Loved this game, but none of the new additions make me want to revisit it. My thoughts exactly. It's like the added the polar opposite of what I would want from new content. A racetrack? Shooting gallery? warehouse stealth missions? Nah, you're alright. What attracted me to the game in the first place, and why I enjoyed it so much, was the big treks across the wilderness yourself, or sneaking through BT infested areas. Shame. Although for the price, I'm tempted anyway, only because I like to go briefly back to it once in a while for some long lonely treks, and it would be nice to have a native PS5 version.

They've somewhat negated the £5 upgrade goodwill for me by removing the standard PS4 edition from PSN and instead only selling the digital deluxe edition. Furthermore the DD edition was regularly on sale until they announced the PS5 patch was coming.
May have to get a disc version but ideally I like to stay all-digital.

The save game transfer sounds absolute bollocks. I've seen some sites portray it as genius Kojima.

It does eh, that's another thing that puts me off. Ghost of Tsushima is an example of how to do it right.

Yeah you have to make sure you have no open jobs and you have to go in game and go to a terminal and export your save from there. Microsoft really got this aspect of cross generation saving right.

One of my favourite games but I had it on disc (PS4), and now I have a digital PS5.
Sooo, will I have to buy the full thing for £45?

No apparently if you lay the disc on top of the digital PS5's that works too.

Do you have to already own the game to upgrade for £5?
You can still get the physical PS4 version from Laptops Direct for £14.97, and from 365games, Simply Games, and The Game Collection for £17.
Of all the PS4 exclusives last gen, this is the only one that really interested me because, to me, delivering things safely and terrain traversal is more interesting than shooting.
I regret not picking up a copy from Argos for £15, but people put me off by saying it was quite story-heavy and a bit mad. I'd have preferred it to be a completely open-ended experience that's basically like running a successful delivery company, of sorts.

It’s brilliant, so fuck it, I’ve wizzed £45 on it again today.
I’d go as far to say it has some of the best gameplay in any game, ever.

That's a bold statement. I've still never got around to playing it so I'll pick up the PS5 version at some point I think.

darkling - yeah, should be the same as any other upgrade where you need the disc in the drive or to own the digital version before the upgrade appears on the PS5 for you to purchase.

I'm almost certain I have a bunch of open quests meaning you can't transfer the file. I'll get angry later once it's all downloaded.

So I'll need to download the PS4 version. Fire it up, hope I have no quests open, upload my save, quit. Delete it because my tiny hard drive is nearly full, download the PS5 version, and hope that the save transfers over okay. Yup. I can see why that's the best way of doing things. Thanks Kojima.
Not that I'm playing it any time soon, but part of me does want to make sure that my save goes over okay so I'll probably end up pissing about doing that this weekend. Silly. Just silly.

I had it on disc on PS4 and now I'm a digiPS5 man too. Might buy it anyway because it's fucking amazing. Don't even care that I'll have to start again.

I searched just now (on the app, on a phone) and the £5 thing isn’t anywhere to be seen there- is it something you grab from in game or summat?
