On the off chance that you have an Xbox and GamePass, I do believe that version is 60fps through FPS Boost.

60 on X/S but struggles to reach 30fps on the original Xbox

Playing Yakuza 5 right now and gotta admit I'm finding the Haruka chapter super fun. Getting a few odd looks from the misses though.

Just got the PS5 version of the Yakuza adjacent Judgement as a birthday gift the other day. Looking forward to getting into that, although currently neck deep in Xenoblade Chronicles 2, so not sure whether to save it until that is done.
Only played Yakuza 0. Assume there isn't too much crossover with the Yakuza series that I should really have seen before Judgement?

Both the Judgment games are good, tailing can be a little annoying but not the worst thing in the world. From what I recall the plots only really crossover with themselves (and a bit of the backgrounds of the cities). I recall a small cameo that is unmentioned in game (you have to notice yourself) in both games but it shouldn't spoil anything.

Finally! Wish it was a dual release with Kenzan though. But I'll take what I can get.

At this point I'll buy pretty much anything RGG put out, but yeah that looks incredible.

With the popularity of the likes of Sekiro and Tsushima it always seemed like a good time to finally translate this. I assume we will get some Pro/PS5 enhancements too (res). Kenzan is going to need a Kiwami though.. I will be preordering this though, even though I have it in Japanese on PS3 and PS4....
Edit - I see from the EG post that they are using a new engine and updating it, hopefully still leads to a Kenzan Kiwami although that obviously needs a lot more updating of assets etc

I also had the Japanese PS3 version, though my PS3 died before I completed it. Looking forward to this, though I hope the new engine doesn't mean it will run like crap on PS4.

It's UE4 so it should be OK, but I wouldn't expect the 1080p60 of the PS4 original. They're calling this Ishin Kiwami so I'm interested in what else they change up, I can see the dungeon crawling/allotment farming being different especially since there's no Vita companion app. That said, with the Steam Deck there's no need for a portable companion app because the full game should just run fine!
I think Kenzan's a tougher ask because of some of the subject matter, and the maps etc would need more of a brush up - I can see Ishin being mostly a port with some updated assets but Kenzan would need more new things going on, especially after how lukewarm people were on the original RGG Kiwami.
edit: I'm actually a little surprised they didn't announce a (bad) version on Switch. Maybe that's too much for them to bite off with their first project.

Yakuza 8 in 2024, but Ishin Kiwami at end of Feb and Like a Dragon Gaiden out next year too.
Cool to see Ishin brings back an all star cast, Kuze too good to not bring back in some capacity. Garden supposedly takes place after 6, but before 7 AND also post 7 and before 8, so it will tie it together. Not as long as a full game, but bigger than DLC, so maybe something similar to Kiwami 1 or 2? Wonder how the combat in 8 will work out, an RPG combat form for Kiryu will be weird. I kinda wanted it to be Ichiban on his own, but they said Y8 will be the biggest game in the series so no doubt he'll get some love.

I'm replaying Y0 at the moment as it happens. I'll be all over this, always thought it looked intriguing.
So were there two of the feudal era ones then? Is this a remake of the first one?

My wife absolutely pisses herself laughing whenever I shout KIRYUUUUUU!!!! in that growly, angry japanese-type voice, so glad he's coming back. Still yet to play 6 or LAD, so need to get cracking on those. 5 was great.

So they've officially changed the western name to Like A Dragon then? I do believe that's what Ryu ga Gotoku clumsily translates to.

The Chinese title appears to translate to 'a dragon among men' though that's just me reading the characters. I like that though, it's got a bit more of the flair that 'gotoku' implies.

Watched that Ishin video. It's been too long since I played the original veersion but I like the extra stuff they seem to have added. I don't remember the RGG5 cooking game being in there, nor the live action gravure (!!!) and they specifically say new karaoke songs (Majima/Okita's ones were already excellent so I hope for more). I wasn't sure how hard they'd go on the dungeon crawling either since there's no Vita version but it looks like they're pushing forward with lots of new support characters - fun to see characters like Ichiban, Sayama and Ishioda added. I don't remember the trainer from RGG0 being in Ishin or the tengu mission either so I think they're new side stories. The story should be roughly the same though, since they've kept Unsho Ishizuka's performance in there.
I'm quite interested in how the rest of the 'new' cast do in their new roles too, especially the 0 trio. As good as Hitoshi Ozawa/Kuze was in 0, I really liked George Takahashi/Hamazaki in the original.

The stream today was very surprising, Ishin obviously wasn't news and another Yakuza/LAD/whatever they're calling it in the West as it's not clear was always coming but Kiryu being one of its protagonists and him getting his own Yakuza 6.5 game was a shock.
Also the returning cast appearing in Ishin were quite fun when they were on stage.

That's why Ishin's the most exciting announcement. Though tbf, after 7 and Lost Judgment, I'd gotten tired of Ijincho and wanted to return to Kamurocho or Sotenbori.

I know people find it easier to play with the dub but one of the big things with this version is they’ve brought in some of the screen actors they had in RGG0. Although I’ll miss George Takahashi this time around.
Edit: I think the main reason is a bit more boring though: this is a relatively low budget test project which is primarily to “try out” the unreal engine to see if it’s worth using in the future. They’re porting a relatively small scope game to it and adding a bit extra to keep the fans happy - the budget will be limited. Many of the characters that are being replaced with the RGG7 crew are the celeb actor cameos from the original.
